LND was a bad drama but got more hype tho

I just commented this but are people actually fighting with those who like the second couple more?

Ngl I’m actually more excited for the second couple now. They look like a picture perfect manhwa couple. Funny thing is, I was so hyped for the main leads before the drama even started. The ex and family kinda ruining it for me

I’m glad we can actually discuss the drama here without getting attacked in groups like what happened during LND. Also I’m relieved that one particular user isn’t here this time 😭 This is my favorite ongoing drama right now but that doesn’t mean we have to stop giving constructive criticism

Honestly, I feel the same as you. I knew this would happen when I saw the actor playing the ex in a main role. To give him screen time, they had to make the FL have no boundaries

Imo they should change the poster. For the longest time, I thought it was some male oriented action drama until today I actually saw the title which, to be honest, is still less impressive than the original one “I Kiss You for No Reason.”

While I agree that this year’s Kdramas haven’t really been up to the mark, not you calling Kdramas repetitive while praising Cdramas when Cdramas probably have the most repetitive plots known to mankind. Even those short web Cdramas you mentioned keep recycling the same CEO husband and cinderella storyline. As for the proper ones, earlier all modern Cdramas revolved around the contract marriage trope and now every costume drama follows the same formula grey main leads, stylish walks😭, mutual suspicion at first, then teaming up and falling in love. It’s literally the same story with different outfits

Ngl I was about to call the ML’s character flat but then they pulled out that twist at the end of episode four. It made their whole dynamic so much better and more interesting

I was just about to watch it but that stupid chronic illness tag?? Don’t tell me it’s another LND in the making 😭 Can we please have one fun romcom without unnecessary sad subplots? It’s all because of those romcom police who think lighthearted ones are too silly,they keep adding these stupid subplots to make it "deep or meaningful"

My friend is an avid watcher of Jdramas and keeps recommending them to me but I honestly find most of them weird 😭 Even if I try to avoid the strange themes, the first thing that always gives me the ick is the constant cheating and it’s usually by the main leads! They immediately become grey characters for me, so I can’t root for them at all.

And yes,I really hope Kdramas stay true to their culture and core themes. But honestly, it’s the international audience that keeps criticizing everything. Like, we all became fans because of those classic tropes, so why complain about them now? For example, people keep hating on the childhood connection trope and rant about it in every single episode that features it. Sure, it can get repetitive but the constant complaining has become way more annoying than the trope itself.
I also agree kdramas can do way better than they did this year

Out of the three Cdramas you mentioned, only two were actually good and one of them came out quite a while ago. I don’t think we’ve really “slept" on Cdramas, they only started improving around 2021 when they began trying to imitate Kdramas. Even though Cdramas have definitely gotten a lot better, they’re still very repetitive. I don’t even want to get into Thai or Jdramas. I just find them weird.

I also agree that Kdramas have drifted away from their own culture but isn’t that mostly because of the international audience? They make up a huge portion of the viewership and constantly criticize everything from the celebrity culture to general societal norms.

I could agree with part of your comment but saying that in this drama’s comment section makes it sound untrue. This was honestly the only good rom com this year. Also, which cdrama has even been that great this year for you to say that? Most of them just recycle whatever plot is trending at the moment.
For example, in historical dramas, the current trend is gray main leads. The same setup every time: the FL seeking revenge or solving a mystery, the ML doubting her at first but eventually teaming up and falling in love. Same shit happens all the time

But the Islamophobia in the comment section is unbelievable. Some people are only defending it just to spread hate. It’s sad that this drama will never get its true rating, since bots are either downvoting it to 1 or giving it 10 without genuinely liking it

Suzy is absolutely gorgeous and her acting in this is really good too. Some people just can’t stand attractive actors. I’m pretty sure it’s jealousy, because if a less good looking actor had played the same role, they’d be screaming “mother” nonstop

Even though I liked it and it pulled me out of my Kdrama slump, I think adding the ex girlfriend subplot ruined the main story a lil bit
