Am I the only one who thinks Eun-Chae was lying and stole the uniform? I see a lot of people saying it was a halluncination…
this is a good point! it's definitely an interesting theory. i was thinking eunchae was killed by the bad guys and she "guided" youngjoo to a safe place. I noticed youngjoo’s hallucinations were always zombies and never real people, so it does make eunchae's behavior a bit suspicious.
Newtopia had the perfect ending! it definitely started out slow in the beginning which was an introduction of the character's but it quickly picked up. The unique concept of being in a dystopian society with the dark comedy, slight romance, action and heartbreaking moments were all on point - it kept me on the edge of my seat. everyone did such an amazing job! and the fact that we still have many questions unanswered, hopefully there's a season 2 i'm looking forward to it!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm really glad my review resonated with you. I totally agree.…
Yaay! How exciting, you're so lucky — I would love to be able to experience the first time i watched again! I love how their attraction to one another was so subtle, but you could tell from the very first moment they met. As for your question, I initially felt like the FL's journey was more focused on her own personal growth and empowerment rather than a traditional romance. But honestly, I would have been happy with any outcome — if the story had taken a different turn and they rode off into the sunset together, I would’ve understood and appreciated that too. For me, a story doesn’t always need a romantic ending to be meaningful; sometimes, it’s about the journey and the growth a character undergoes. But I’m really curious to hear your thoughts once you finish!
What a thoughtful, intricate, rich and charming critique of the series. I can see your adoration and it proves…
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm really glad my review resonated with you. I totally agree. I understand people may not like the theme of the drama and that's okay but — it's frustrating when people try to fit something so unique into a box that doesn't do it justice. The series definitely offers a depth and richness that's often overlooked. I appreciate you sharing your perspective!
Love Scout is surprisingly refreshing, even though it's a workplace romance we've seen many times before. What makes it stand out is the unique twist — typically, the male lead would be the CEO with a dominant, alpha persona leading the relationship, while the female lead would be the secretary embodying a nurturing, feminine role. But here, it’s the opposite, and I find it sweet that it mirrors their romantic dynamic. Both characters are well-developed, level-headed, and mature, with even their work life being iconic. The storyline flows smoothly, and there’s something about it that has a special charm.
I do agree with Rose's point; I’m a bit concerned about where the drama is headed. can we be happy, please? It feels like kdrama writers often fall back on overused tropes, like childhood connections and trauma, even when they’re unnecessary and could detract from the overall plot. But despite that, it’s still my favorite kdrama currently airing.
You get it! he just wasn't a good and attentive partner. he made her feel alone, isolated, ignored her when she wanted some sort of communication. but no let me break up with my fiancé for you - who also still made her move back to japan and never learned her language mind you :). he was still so selfish to the end.
I definitely think that the FL and ML should've parted ways and not got back together.
First Point: To me personally, Ending with the fiancé would've felt like a more natural and satisfying conclusion, especially considering how much he supported her and showed genuine care. It would've emphasized growth, healing, and finding someone who truly understands and meets your needs. Plus, it would have been a solid conclusion to her journey of realizing what real love looks like, compared to the toxic patterns she might've been clinging to with the ML. the ending would have been more emotionally rewarding and realistic for me atleast; if she had chosen a future where she wasn’t settling for someone who couldn’t put in the effort. Something's are just good to be left in the passed. It should've been like ohh yeah we were in love once but it's better now and i now know what i don't want in a relationship.
Second Point: The ML wrote a whole entire book about her and i guess finally understood her feelings once he lost her... if he really loved her, why did it take losing her to fully get it? the whole book thing felt like a bit of an afterthought, especially when it was like only after losing her that the ML started to understand her. It kind of comes across as him only fully realizing her worth when she was no longer available to him, which feels a little too late. the book could've been this beautiful, reflective moment where he acknowledges everything—his love, his mistakes, and the lessons he learned. It could've stood as this heartfelt testament to the impermanence of love and how sometimes the most profound realizations come only after loss. using it as a form of closure, to reflect and move on, and for her to see that he grew, even if it wasn’t enough to win her back. it felt like the story kind of shoehorned in an attempt at redemption for him when really, the impact of his neglect and selfishness had already been made clear. A more fitting end could've been him letting her go, accepting that their paths had split, and that the love they once shared was something beautiful for what it was—but now in the past. It really would've been powerful to see her walk away, knowing she was better off, having learned what she truly needs in love.
Just finished this, i really enjoyed it. The story was so refreshing and unique - but can we please leave the whole fatsuits really not needed to push a storyline but aside from that, the story and character development was definitely strong. The way they explore family, relationships and personal growth and im glad they didn't prolong plotlines That’s one of the things I really appreciated about the show—how it didn’t drag out certain conflicts for the sake of drama. The characters felt like real people, flaws and all. The second family being scammers yet still finding moments of genuine connection with the main family was such an interesting take on redemption and forgiveness. It felt more realistic that they could slowly come together, rather than just having everyone stay in conflict. like how they all went to support Bok Ina's performance. It showed how people can grow and change, even if they’ve made mistakes.
and another thing Jang Ki Yong is an ACTOR there was so many scenes where he had absolutely no dialogue and you just felt what he's feeling from his facial expressions.
I don't know how such a fun drama got so way off base in the discussion.Just ignore it and watch for your enjoyment.…
Oh, definitely. I was still going to watch to form my own opinion regardless! Sometimes the comments can be overblown, and it’s easy to let others' opinions shape your own experience.
I haven't started this yet, this was on my to watch list it was one of my most anticipated dramas. my favorite genre is women; so the fact that i was getting 5 of them in this series made me so excited and what made me want to watch it to begin with. So to see the reviews and people complaining about it, made me really let down because i had such high hopes for it. I will still tune in. i don't want to speak too early cause again i haven't watched it yet, so i'll let it progress and see where it will go - such a waste of an incredible cast if not.
