A beautiful portrait of life
Beautifully melancholic. The sweet, sour, bitter all the flavours that make up life. cartharhic and emotionally draining yet it leaves you with this sweet pain in the heart; painful yet warm.Brilliant performance by the entire cast. Full of heart and a very relatable human story. A very realistic love story which is reminiscent of our parent's stories. Loved this drama which deeply touched me through its deeply poetic and nostalgic narrative.

But every time our hearts felt growing pains,
We all grew a little"

A Masterful Work of Art
A tale about clinging on to life despite the never ending hopelessness that surrounds us. A very poignant look at human relationships and resilience of humans in everyday life no matter what life throws at you or how hopeless and bleak everything might look.One of IU's best acting performances. My Mister and When Life Gives you Tangerines are at the top tier of kdramas or dramas in general. Just wish IU gets a proper happy ending in a drama for a change rather than sad or bittersweet endings like most of her body of work which are very realistic and lifelike. The director is a master of his craft at delving deep into human emotions (same director as when life gives you tangerines).
The music specially the title track "grown ups/adult" is deliciously sad and poignant and very beautiful brings out the soul of the series. This is definitely a must watch for anyone who wants to feel as it tugs at the heartstrings right from its opening sequences. The city in motion, the bustle of the metro carrying lonely souls is very beautiful portrayed. Quite an impactful and deeply emotional piece of cinema.

Despite low ratings on MDL, Loved it! Go with an open mind!
I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. The first 6-7 episodes went like a breeze. The friendship dynamic was really great to watch. Loved almost all the side characters. Enjoyed the ending. Everyone more or less got a happy ending in my book. I was scared it might go the "you and everything else" route but thankfully it didn't. Would have loved to see more of the reconciliation and return of the friendship maybe another episode rather than a 5 minute epilogue. But overall had a good time with this drama maybe since I binged it at one go without waiting every week. I would suggest to go with an open mind with this drama without carrying about the ratings and judge for yourself!Was this review helpful to you?
A Healing Drama about fresh start
"Life isn't a book with an ending; it's a notebook I have to fill in myself.
Even if confronted by a blank page;
It's the unwritten first page of my story"
A beautiful healing drama that captures the conundrum of most people in their late 20s and early 30s of current times trying to make sense of life. It beautifully encapsulates the struggles, self doubt and inner turmoil that most people go through as they step into adulthood. The series also offers a calming soundtrack that goes with the flow of the drama. One of the career best performances by park bo-young. Definitely a must watch for slice of life kdrama enthusiasts
