To be fair, the hetero (not anymore soon loool) lead hasn't actually confronted his partner regarding what he has been feeling. He just initiated sex but never actually talked to her about it properly. Not to say, it's his fault entirely cos the gf seems to be distant as well. However, my point still stands though. Cheating is no way to go. It only leads to more heartbreak. The gay/bi lead however is in a situasionship so I wouldnt really count that as him cheating cos the relationship wasn't even established. It's more of a conveniency agreement from what I see.
I hope you realize that 'experimenting with their options' is what most cheaters used to justify them cheating on their partner. Once it's done, the trust is already broken. Regardless of the reason why, the relationship wont stay the same anymore. Again, not to say I'm not enjoying this series. It's a very fresh take and if a series manage to bring out healthy debate and discussions among the viewers, that is already a huge point for me and as a writer myself is what I achieve to put out in my own works haha
I mean to be fair, it is still cheating. There's no way to justify it. Be it whether there's other 'worse' ways…
I see your point! But I do wanna say that sexual act is not the only thing that define a relationship. Not to say our leads are wrong for thinking that way though which is why I think that he should've just ended it. Cheating will just lead to more heartbreak. Be it whether it's justifiable or not cos clearly, the GF's love language is not the same as his or as some commenters mentioned. discovered that she's not interested in guys anymore (side note: this would be really funny if it turned out this way. GL and BL in one story setting. Representations hello?)
Also, we are also unsure of what Nakarai's roommate's intention is. They never slept together, never even being in any kind of intimacy. Either way, both of our leads should've just ended their partnerships with their respective partner right then and there imo. BUT THEN AGAIN, we wouldn't have this discussion and the story wouldnt be as interesting as it is now.

Honestly. even if they don't end up together (crosses fingers that they will) , I will still be somewhat satisfied with their arc. It just adds a lil bit more realism to the story that not everything ends with the typical fairy tale happy ending BUTTTT I am a sucker for angsty dramas so I may be biased haha, given that it was done correctly that is.

I know which one you're talking about! cos I was just planning to watch it but delayed it cos of the reviews haha. It's Let's Eat Together Aki and Haru right?
But anyways, yeah. Totally agreed with all of your points. I do sympathise with all of the characters though. One can see the motive behind the cheating, one can also argue the intentions of the leads' partner. Interesting to see how this series turns out.
All I know is that February 7th needs to hurry up. I need the sex-denying partners to kick rocks and for these…
Watching a fictional drama while recognising the problematic issue in the series is also a part of enjoying the series though. At least, that's how I see it haha. I also see there's no way to justify cheating on your partner cos break up is always an option. Cheating is basically a way of running from confrontations and is a cowardly way to end the relationship. That's what makes this series very interesting to me. JBLs are always top notch when it comes to story telling imo.

Can you clarify what MDL stands for? I’m unsure of the term haha
To follow up on your ‘neither lead has an obligation to keep their roommate informed’ I don’t really agree on that. While you can argue that it's more of a situationship and not a relationship status with Nakarai, the same cannot be said for the hetero(not anymore soon lol) lead cos he’ is still in a relationship with his girlfriend. Instead of cheating, he should’ve just broken up with her. It's not like they are married and he's clearly unhappy with the relationship. As someone who has been cheated before, it’s just a cowardly way to justify one’s action. This however doesn’t change my view on the series though. Like I said, that’s what makes it so refreshing to see. Complicated characters handling complicated situations.
Be it, we are not exactly sure what will happen yet. He will probably break up with her before the sex but I doubt it cos then it will be anticlimactic for the series.

I mean to be fair, it is still cheating. There's no way to justify it. Be it whether there's other 'worse' ways to cheat or not but that's what so refreshing to see in this series. Complicated characters in complicated situations. They are all just in a problematic situation. Just know not to condone any of the problematic actions.
