Kim Hye yoon isn’t a bad actor but I don’t really get why she’s praised so much when others on a similar level often get criticized. She doesn’t seem to have much voice modulation, from Extraordinary You to Lovely Runner and even Snowdrop, her voice and mannerisms feel pretty similar. Putting her aside, the drama itself wasn’t bad, just very average. Maybe if it had been 16 episodes, they could’ve developed things more because the story had all the right elements

It’s surprising and honestly satisfying to see the female lead getting called out. Nowadays viewers rightfully hate playful kiss because the male lead takes the FL for granted. Yet when the FL does the same to the ML in other dramas, it’s fine. Instead of making him the strong, green forest, they make him look like a pathetic simp. So seeing her criticized here actually feels right

Honestly, they need to stop making main characters like this female lead in Kdramas. We just saw this in the tiktok drama this summer, I Turned Pretty, where the female lead goes back and forth between guys. Now, it feels like many recent Kdramas are trying to establish the same type of story. But most Kdrama watchers have rejected this kind of storyline. If we wanted that storyline, we could’ve just watched the English version. Instead, we’re squinting at subtitles because we came here for something different

It’s actually true I’m watching bcz of the kid too. Take the baby out of the picture and it becomes a terrible story. The female lead bouncing between two men like a shuttlecock, while the one she ends up with just looks like a cuck.

Hu Xiu might be my favorite female character ever from this type of dramas. She’s so mature for a romance drama yet she’s not preachy. She doesn’t run away from problems but she’s also not boring or overly serious. I love how she always shut SML up. When the male lead dodged her kiss, she didn’t run to SML to make him jealous, even though she could have and when everything came out, she never blamed the male lead. In most dramas, even after the main couple starts dating, the female lead still keeps a friendly relationship with SML knowing he likes her but she didn’t try that when they weren’t even together. I’m honestly surprised to see such a perfect female lead in a romance drama
