Esther Yu is the best!!!
I just can’t get enough of this series 🤩🤩🤩Esther Yu is the best… funny, cute and such a great actress… I like her style so much! The story is so uplifting and I feel it will have the trope “new beginnings”, how to overcome a setback with enthusiasm and Esther is the perfect actress for this role. I also like the focus on true friendship which is an important part of our live journey, especially when we face setbacks and challenges, they can make it easier to rise and a great coach (as Lin Yi is) makes it even better, holding our hands at the beginning and helping us rely again on ourselves. inspiring example how to stay true to yourself
In my eyes this drama is amazing… it is perfect… there is only one downside which irritates me very much… the MLs mother… (every screetime with her makes me want … I mean come on… does this mother love fame and prestige more than her own son… her pushing him into even illness for a stupid paper which has no value compared to the wellbeing of a human…) besides that it’s so beautiful and heartwarming and an inspiring example how to stay true to yourself… I cannot wait to see how the love story develops furthermore! The young Qile is so amazing, I have never seen a child actor being so genuine and full of emotions and conveying everything so strong, she’s going to become an amazing actress as an adult too (I really hope to see many more movies/tv shows with her). I love all characters they are all so deep and round… besides the mother… which I utmostly disklike!Was this review helpful to you?

best costume drama of 2025
what can I say I just loooooove when a woman is disguised as a man and slays them so well… I have been eating this trope my entire life… but… this is the best I have seen executed this trope… the FL… I have watched almost all of her series… but here… she is just so brilliant! amazing! I love her so much how well she shows all the facets of this character… the best!the only downside for me right now… that the love is so slow… I don’t really like slow burn romance… however taking into consideration we are not even half the way of the series I understand… I just cannot wait for more 😅but the tension between them is there… the hidden glances from the ML… his cold demeanour on the surface but warm caring actions in the background… I cannot wait to see his romantic side 😅
for me personally this is the best costume drama of 2025! as the episodes drop I am watching them because… wow… just wow… it deserves even 9+ rating but 8,6 is also amazing considering that people here like to judge way harsher than necessary.
