I watched 8 EPs so far and I would agree to most of it but I must say I liked Miku (younger sister) in KR version…
I think the difference here is the younger sister in the Kdrama contributed a lot to the FL gaining confidence and growing that way. I enjoyed watching that. I liked her in the Kdrama as well.
They also had the side story of people assuming her and her brother were secretly dating in her first life since they hid their connection so that led to more screen time. I honestly didn't miss that.
In this version her confidence seemed to grow more naturally without too much outside influence, and in that regard alone I felt that was a big driver for this being the better variation.
For context, I have seen the Korean variation and enjoyed it. However, this 10 episode condensed and somewhat modified Japanese version was way more thrilling, way more intense, and the story without all the filler that the Korean version has was much more enjoyable to watch.
Never saw the Chinese version - and it'll probably be awhile until I do since this was an emotional rollercoaster and I read these moms were tame in comparison. Abusive parents are incredibly difficult to watch.
My girl Dal had the best glow up in this show. Character development lacked severely and even the ten year time jump didn't seem to teach them much about social interactions with the people they're close to without getting stuff forced out of them. Despite all that, I cried almost every episode but it is definitely worth the watch!
This drama took me the longest to finish because I didn't want it to end. You just don't get chemistry between a group like you do here. Insanely good. Cried nonstop. Thank you for making this a one of a kind show full of heart. ❤️
I appreciate your candid review. I am all too aware of the curse of episodes 8-10 (depending on the series length). What a bummer and thanks for the warning. 2025 has been a ridiculously mixed bag in terms of good dramas. sigh.
What a gem of a show to see the episodes get better and better as the series went on and never get boring or drag. WOW what an awesome series this is. To those hesitating: Stop and watch this show!
Season 2 and 3 should never have been separated. They should have been combined into one full season. While I don't think that would have saved this series completely I think it would have helped.
Season 3 by itself was not good. Not captivating, and it doesn't hit the way the first 2 seasons did. A let down, but not a complete failure.
this show was a wild rollercoaster of emotions and not in a good way. This whole story makes no sense. Dragging her parents into this con for selfish reasons was gross. The con didn't even need to last as long as it did but since it's 16 episodes let's draaaaaag out this mess with a incredibly heavy love triangle where I'm still scratching my head why the SML was into her when she was a two-timer. bleh.
This wasn't a bad story - but I felt like ML and FL were more brother/sister than romantic throughout the entire series. I think that took me out of the story for the most part.
They also had the side story of people assuming her and her brother were secretly dating in her first life since they hid their connection so that led to more screen time. I honestly didn't miss that.

Episodes 9 and 10 are intense. Enjoy!
