News Every Light Holds a Story
I didn't expect this drama to be a horror story at all, and the first two episodes definitely got me with those jump scares! I had no particular expectations about how good the story would be, but I was pretty confident that a Park Bo-young drama would be worth watching.
One thing I've noticed about her drama choices is that they tend to be more character-driven and emotionally grounded rather than overly explosive. Think of Melo Movie, Our Unwritten Seoul, Daily Dose of Sunshine, and even On Your Wedding Day. Their stories might not always sound particularly extraordinary at first. They don't necessarily rely on complicated mysteries, intense action, or romance filled with endless obstacles.
Instead, they focus on characters and situations that feel familiar to us. They're people we could encounter in everyday life, carrying emotions, struggles, and experiences that we can recognize in ourselves. In a way, the characters become a reflection of human nature.
And I think that's what makes her drama choices interesting. Regardless of whether she's playing in a romance, mystery, action, or horror story, there's always something deeply human behind the characters.
Light Shop is another example of that. What initially seems like a horror story turns out to be something much more heartwarming and unpredictable. Every character has their own story, and each one brings a different emotion to the bigger picture.
Definitely worth watching!
