But all of thema re so laid back they dont like to show what they're capable of. Our FL was trained by her aunt (a lagendary heroine that will keep haunting the narrative even after she died) and she's one of the most capable in her generation, it's just that she's really dont like to practice and only using her martial art when it's really needed.

The so called demon sect and righteous sect is a conventional way to differentiate sect's approach of cultivation (orthodox and unorthodox). Most of time, in the story like this, their sect doesn't determine their moral and personality. And especially in this drama, it would later revealed that even the righteous sect also did bad thing and many demon sect member did good thing. This drama also explore how their background, as well as previous generation's grudge, cant determine who they are as a person. They could always choose a path of themselves and doesn't blindly follow what was taught to them.

he is the rightful heir, the succession in the demon sect is a bit complicated but yeah, he should be the one leading that sect but his father had him hide away in the Chang family for protection.

and the real one isnt dead he's just irrelavant to the story (he give up the Chang Ning identity and live as an ordinary person)

well, we never really get to see the real Chang Ning in the novel but yeah, the ML isnt the real one.

jianghu refer to the world of martial artists, like their social environment where there's heroes, wanderer, sects, and stuff, not the usual commoner community, all the younger generation in this drama sre from heroes families and sects, but they havent gone to see the world outside by themselves, therefore they havent really seen how jianghu is like in their era

it should be a huge plot line in the first act of the novel, the demon sect did have an inside man (a very important one) from the qingque sect, they almost take over the whole sect

y'all I just start watching this and I noticed Wanyang Luorong is the guy in the first scene. Does anyone knows why his career didn't take off despite having a very decent acting skill and his Zhuge Qing and Lei Mengsha both got good receptions. Does he comes from not so good agency or smth?

He's an antagonist during the lead's highschool years, not much screentime but has quite a big impact to the plot. Not sure what he will be credited as (support role or guest role)

Glad to help! It's never really mentioned in the novel either. Jiang Xu only told Ming Tan that at the end of the novel. They never really make it a subplot or smth throughout the story.

The late emperor is the father of the current emperor. But he raised to the throne after he killed his brother (the official crown prince) that was Jiang Xu father. He regretted it later and want to give the throne to Jiang Xu back after he died, but Jiang Xu refused.

Iirc from the novel they're indeed cousin. And Jiang Xu should be the next in line to the trone when the late emperor died but he pass it to the current emperor (next in line after Jiang Xu). That's why he trust Jiang Xu so much.

There is no such urgency to cast a 17-18 in a romantic setting especially if she's paired with much older guy. They could easily get real adult for this role, and there are other big lead roles out there for young actresses. Upset how they still think this casting decision is okay. Love HMH, and Ai Mi is pretty good to me (I have nothing against her) but def would not check this out.
