An Easy Feel Good Experience
There's really only one criticism I have of this series and it's that the plot felt a little contrived, some of the drama little forced, and just overall kind of low effort. There's one or two super goofy twists I appreciated but saw coming. But y'know? It honestly doesn't matter that much because as far as I'm concerned this show is all about the characters and with the exceptions of a couple of slimy antagonists you're supposed to hate, I found each and every character uniquely loveable and memorable. The chemistry with the two leads is excellent and the relationship dynamic had me frequently squealing with giddy joy. Even side characters I expected to dislike, that could easily have been aggrivating in another series as those same archetypes, were loveable. So even though it never felt like much was going on to draw me into the unfolding plot and drama, I was always keen to see how the characters would act and react and interact - especially the playful interactions between the leads. Those two truly hit it out of the park.

Too Cute To Handle
This show made me hungry. It made me hungry for food but it also made me hungry for passion. What this show does best is warm fuzzy feelings, good vibes, and cuteness. And it does those things soooo well! Plus it engages in its feminist and queer themes seriously in a way I loved. This show is almost as much about sexism as it is about food. All that was grand. But because both characters are newly out as lesbians and in their first relationship, there's an adolescent awkwardness to their romance. One or maybe both of them are ace and one is just generally emotionally stoic (or even repressed). The net result is that I was screaming for them to just kiss already, or at least hug or hold hands! It eventually happens and everything about it is a very deliberate choice by the makers that I respect but personally it leaves me a little wanting.
That said I still binged both seasons in one day and can easily see myself rewatching this. The cuteness levels are off the scale and the lack of usual intense dramatic tropes like third act break-ups makes this a welcome breezey watch.

Loved For A Reason
Even though I'm late to the Thai GL fandom I started at the beginning. I can see how this kickstarted a whole craze for GL dramas because it really is amazing. The story telling can be a little inefficient (you could honestly cut like three episodes worth of content without sacrificing quality) and the arranged marriage drama that takes up much of the finale feels a little lost on me as a cultural outside. Those are literally the only complaints I have, though. I loved basically everything else about this show. Was this review helpful to you?

The Show That Hooked Me
This series took me from a FreenBecky fan after Gap to a full blown FreenBecky devottee. The chemistry these two have is earth shaking.I loved everything about this series. I was worried that 16 episodes might be a slog but it wasn't. It's 16 episodes of well paced intense heartbreaking drama. Yet the overall tone was still light and I never felt, as I sometimes do, that the drama got too visceral and I needed to take a break. It hit a perfect sweet spot of feel good tension for me.
I reached the end of The Loyal Pin and genuinely considered going back to the start and immediately rewatching the whole thing again. I love it that much. If this is what Thai GL dramas have to offer, consider me a fangirl. This is my life now.
