It's a No Brainer, Literally, you don't need to use your brain to watch this.

The word comes to mind is ridiculous. I was able to finally finish this drama; although, had to fast forward a lot. Continue to watch this reminds me how one can't look away from a train wreck. The story makes no sense at all as throughout the whole show, EVERYBODY, I mean everybody, even two countries are after Fan Xian trying to kill him, even his own father (the Emperor). This could have been easily done when Fan Xian was a child, but ..NO... let's wait until he grows up, let's create stupid, complicated plots to chase him, try to kill him whichever way, whomever by. Also, the ML goes from a simple country bumpkin to a genius poet and a level 9 martial artist in a matter of a year or less so all the powerful people want to willingly give over all powers to him... Seriously? And what's with the Salsa and other modern music in the fight scenes? Unhinged scene Episode 45, martial art fight between the Saintness and ML with modern music and dance, rose petals falling in the background at the Empress' birthday party... Oh and let's not forget Episode 35 big fighting scene with EVERYBODY fighting, enemies, friends, whatever and whomever, just everyone for no reason, what a chaos! And where is the romance or Joy of Life in all of this? Lots of boring Court talk, blah, blah, blah. I give 8 as the acting crew was excellent and I truly loved the music, scenery and costumes. It's kind of like a Chinese Harry Potter movie, entertaining once you turn off your brain. I just have to watch trainwreck NO 2.
