Jin Qi's confusion toward Lan Xiang's prolonged cold shoulder is actually hilarious. In that era, a commoner girl would be joyful if a son (an heir!) from a noble family marry her. Ji Er, for example. She would be in cloud nine (She would be happy to be his concubine, but a wife? Hurray!!), and her family would announce it to the whole Jin Ling, bragging about the emperor decree. If she had a fiancé, she would gladly leave him for Jin Qi. 😆

The only reason a woman furious marrying a nobleman is if she in love with another man. Jin Qi learns it the hard way from his ex-wife. And that's why he keeps mentioning Han Liang in their conversation. Jin Qi has no idea that Xu Lan Xiang was not Xu Lan Xiang, but Shen Jia Lan.
