Depravity sold as love - So bad that it's painful to watch.
I give all trending dramas a fair chance before judging them but after a few episodes, you can make a fair assumption of what the drama is about.
This drama is about a man who is highly sexually abusive in his personal life and has a followed the life of crime. There are two types of criminals shown in movies or dramas
1) the first one is the one that fights fairly for power even though he has toxic traits. These ones are criticised rightly despite redeeming qualities.
2) the second one is the villain among the villains as in, that man has no limits. He can be as deprave as you can imagine a monster to be and by the end of the movie, you want him butchered in front of your eyes.
The main character is a third category here - He is actually a rapist/ criminal in a romantic comedy. I don't even know how to approach this story. What should I even do? Should I just shut my brain and pretend that it's romantic or should I expect the story to be realistic where the victim as well as the boyfriend will some day give him a taste of his karma? I feel terrible for the victim who hasn't even come out in the drama and poor thing has experienced abuse. He does feel uncomfortable many times but he is made to think it's romantic which is actually in line with how rapists generally behave. His first experience is ruined along with his mental health. Yeah, no wonder he confuses abuse with romance.
What genre is it? Surely not love. I am dropping it for now but if the abuser gets his karma in the end and the victim gets his revenge (I want him in jail), I believe it will make sense and I will then finish it. The title "Revenged love" will have s lot of meaning then. For now, I will keep in on hold.
I am not a fan of acting and I didn't feel much chemistry even though many fans told me that the chemistry is great. Frankly, I have a japanese word for it - Itai (so cringe that it's painful to watch)
