Quirky Female general and her second chance at life and love❣️❣️

In the beginning, you see the female general that has been created by others to mimic a man. Her face is covered with a heavy mask and she is made to hide every aspect of her femininity. She gets trained and becomes extremely strong 💪 .

As the drama progresses, I believe she cares less and less about looking like aman and embraces her femininity. The once gloomy and aloof general embraces life and is happy to express her quirky and comedic side when she joins as a trainee. That was somehow heartwarming to watch. She is also quite sweet with her army brothers and takes all challenges with a positive attitude. What I love about her is the fact that she is quite good at resolving/handling disagreements with army brothers.

The FL doesn't really mind getting caught or revealing herself in certain situations much later because she has proved her worth and made important alliances by then.

Also, after carrying on the weight of other people's expectations for soo long, she has now decided to live for herself and enjoy the journey fully. Hence, you also get to see a much more unshackled and free version of hers. This doesn't mean that she has no PTSD and she is completely free from trauma. They have also showed her vulnerable side.

The male lead of the drama is such a cool general who is also a great strategist. His aim is restoring hus father's glory and the FL becomes his greatest asset along the way. I think the male's character could have been much better but they missed making him a bit more interesting.
Overall, it's enjoyable...not a masterpiece but fairly and oddly enjoyable.
Both the actors did a great job and had a good chemistry with each other

Depravity sold as love - So bad that it's painful to watch.

I give all trending dramas a fair chance before judging them but after a few episodes, you can make a fair assumption of what the drama is about.

This drama is about a man who is highly sexually abusive in his personal life and has a followed the life of crime. There are two types of criminals shown in movies or dramas
1) the first one is the one that fights fairly for power even though he has toxic traits. These ones are criticised rightly despite redeeming qualities.

2) the second one is the villain among the villains as in, that man has no limits. He can be as deprave as you can imagine a monster to be and by the end of the movie, you want him butchered in front of your eyes.

The main character is a third category here - He is actually a rapist/ criminal in a romantic comedy. I don't even know how to approach this story. What should I even do? Should I just shut my brain and pretend that it's romantic or should I expect the story to be realistic where the victim as well as the boyfriend will some day give him a taste of his karma? I feel terrible for the victim who hasn't even come out in the drama and poor thing has experienced abuse. He does feel uncomfortable many times but he is made to think it's romantic which is actually in line with how rapists generally behave. His first experience is ruined along with his mental health. Yeah, no wonder he confuses abuse with romance.

What genre is it? Surely not love. I am dropping it for now but if the abuser gets his karma in the end and the victim gets his revenge (I want him in jail), I believe it will make sense and I will then finish it. The title "Revenged love" will have s lot of meaning then. For now, I will keep in on hold.
I am not a fan of acting and I didn't feel much chemistry even though many fans told me that the chemistry is great. Frankly, I have a japanese word for it - Itai (so cringe that it's painful to watch)

It's a funny historical comedy which is too long for its own good

I would have given it an 8.6 if that was the option.

Right now, it isn't the option so my overall rating is 8.5.

The actors did a pretty good job for a romantic comedy, The villain slowly going completely crazy and making everyone hate him was quite a journey. I think his character was also very interesting because he wasn't introduced as a villain but later on portrayed as a villain because of his karma.
That's what I call a well written villain.

As for the ML, The actors was really good and I could see that he was truly hurt by the treatment of others as well having genuine love in his eyes. This is my first LYN drama and I am quite impressed by his acting.

The female lead was also funny and I enjoyed watching her. I did hate her a lot somewhere in the middle but she was able to get redemption. The scene where she covers the ML in the snow wasthe most emotional and beautiful scene of the drama.

The ending was a well written ending but the question about ML's existence puzzled people. It could have been made a bit more clear. I would love to see the couple in another drama in Modern setting.

This is why I don't like kdramas with multiple seasons

As you can clearly see from my review, I didn't like the season.
Let's start with what I liked first
1) Acting - People have put their souls into acting. The entire cast has done an amazing job. The lead actor, I would say didn't shine as much as he did in the first season but overall, he has still acted quite well.

2) Direction - I know a lot of people even had problems with the direction of this but I beg to differ. I found the direction quite alright and easy on the eyes.

My biggest is issue was with SCREENWRITING. How did they take a great drama and manage to make it boring?? I had troubles even with pacing. This is a spoiler free review so I wouldn't describe the scenes that I felt were completely unnecessary but there were unfortunately many scenes like that.
The law enforcement office's character being reduced to dust though, takes the cake for some of the worst character arcs I have seen in kdramas.

Disappointing to say the least. I will just pretend that it ended after season 1

Went with zero expectations, enjoyed it fully

It's one of those dramas that you watch without any expectations and it actually turns out to be a good one.

By no means is this a masterpiece but I liked the smaller stories and how it all came together. The cast has a great chemistry with each other.

The male lead is actually charming here and believable in this role.

I would definitely recommend it if you are into older kdramas...and liked them more than the recent ones.

I wish I could give it 0 rating

This was genuinely bad.
Firstly, the main character's motivations made no sense
Secondly, the acting was terrible...for the double role
Thirdly, the dialogues were downright uncomfortable.
There is unnecessary depravity in the movie too and in the end , you will be questioning why you even behan watching this terrible story

They probably tried to be edgy about everything but 🤡

I hope no one wastes a single moment of their life watching this movie

SA survivor and her wholesome lover

So this drama is about an introvert girl who falls in love with an extrovert guy. It's pretty standard romantic story but they are cute together.

My problem is that they take wayy too much time to develop some chemistry and the romance is too slow paced for me. The story could have been so much more nuanced but they missed that chance and kind of started running in circles after one point

The FL has past traumas and she is pretty much dealing with it on her own.
The ML desperately wants to be a part of her life and shine some light in her dark world but he is very careful about it because he doesn't want to violate her private space and get her creeped out.

She takes sooo much time to finally open up to her crush but the drama actually makes it worth it.
I have to appreciate the villain for giving me goosebumps and looking menacingly scary and predatory. He made the drama interesting .
I have seen the male lead before and I won't say it's his best work in acting. I have definitely seen better from him. The female lead was alright but I wouldn't call her performance stood out to me.

It's a decent watch for romance loving audience if they have the patience to finish the whole thing.

School romance, friendships , shamans and ghosts

Plot has a high school shaman who keeps her identity secret. She falls for a guy who is troubled and the entire drama is about this girls saving him from problems.

The friendship is really cute in this drama and almost all main characters are likeable. It's a very good teen drama.

The villains as mostly grey and not fully dark...I don't mind that. All supporting characters have done a great job at acting, especially the 2nd ML.

So far, the pacing of the drama has been excellent and intend to finish the drama.

Very promising. Has the potential for drama of the year

The plotline is extremely refreshing as you can read from the description.

The direction is top notch. This is what I would call an amazing social commentary through the lense of fiction.

It delves into every troubling topic under the sun. That includes social anxiety, jealousy, cheating, obsession, pedophilia, abandonment, murder, corruption...you name it and this drama has it.

What binds the audience to this drama is THE THRILL that it gives you despite darker themes. It's nail biting, at least in the beginning .I have very high hopes from this drama.

The cast is well casted. Good job to the director. The actors are doing a great job.
