K-Drama
Both of the stories not only share a similar settings in republican period, but also both of the drama provid a heavy on politics plot. The romance are major part of the story yes, but both dramas provided a heavy background on the japanese colonization in that period; the war, the suffering of people from it, and the loss the comes with it..
so if you like to have a ploitical plot and not romance as the only theme the two dramas are good example.

if you're focusing on romance, i think these two drama have a concept in common. even though they're different geners completly but the slow paced romance and the intimacy between the ML and the FL are similar. both couples slowly becoming each other safe spaces.. they learn to trust one another. There's this kind of imtimate eye language between the couples that makes youu so nervious watching. both dramas have the reveage concept and ML saved from depression by FL. Closed angry ML and bubbly almost happy FL
