A huge disappointment.

So disappointed, the written is bad and not believable, lack of chemistry between the leads.
The redeeming qualities of this drama are the side characters. What a wonderful friend group. The community of the supportive adults. Love seeing this as bad parenting is usually the norm. Script tries real hard to make you hate ML, and his turn around was unnaturally fast, the holes in the plot are so noticeable and the negative pointsare more than the positive ones. What a big disappointment this was.

Simply a Masterpiece.

There is rarely a drama like Northward that comes out once in a while and totally steals your heart. Northward may or may not have been similar to its predecessors but it's a gem of a drama on its own. Never have I seen a drama so well-written, acted and executed so well that it sucks me in and makes me smile and cry as each moment passes by. The family of the drama is one whole consisting of so many unique people. There are moments they are good and moments where they behave terribly and yet, they remind us of how they are also human. These people define a family- being together through the good times and bad and cherishing each other no matter what. I happen to be a person glad to be living in the current generation but this drama made me wanna go back to the 90's. The romance may not be the main part in the previous two installments but this drama overall outdoes everything on every level for me (opinions may differ for all). I can only call this drama a masterpiece.

A Feast for the eyes!!

If there is a must-watch Xianxia drama every year, Moonlight Mystique undoubtedly earns this honor for 2025. The plot unique and characters are wonderful, the love story between Baishuo and Fan yue is pretty much a beautiful forbidden love, their relationship is different from the usual toxic relationships in xianxia dramas, they have such a mature relationship, they respect and love each other and that's the good thing here, the visual affects are one of the best so far and the acting is great.

Gi start and then..

The storyline started with potential but quickly became predictable and repetitive. Character development felt shallow, and many emotional scenes lacked impact due to forced dialogue. The pacing dragged in several episodes, making it hard to stay engaged. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity.
Visually, the costumes and sets were appealing, but the script failed to capture the depth and complexity of the period. The plot relied too heavily on clichés, and some historical details felt inaccurate or oversimplified. Performances were uneven, with certain roles coming across as one-dimensional.

Slice of life xianxia!!

A very good drama, the writing is well done, you have the usual misunderstanding leads to problems on a very superficial level. but if you look closely, it's about how one deal with the injustice of losing one's child. when you have the authority and power to get that justice, every mother and father will. I loved to watch this drama from pov of mothers and fathers, and yes it's somehow a slice of life xianxia and that's what makes it more enjoyable and unique, The plot twists twisted enough and i didn't expect or predict what will happen, it's a mystery drama... It's a drama that has every possible element, comedy, mystery, romance, hate, love, slice of life, fantasy, horror... that's what i love when watching dramas, the balance in the script and the progress of the story makes this drama solid.
