It sounds like you just don't like cdramas which is fine but then why comment on an article of interesting facts…
So, you like this most mythical myth "hero's journey" How to become a better person and defeat evil? But - in order for a hero to become a hero at all, you need a "monster", evil. That's why the hero is always monstrous. Many people must die in the name of hero.... In every myth... And some people just want to watch something after a hard day's work. Light. Beautiful. Which is similar to a fairy tale. That good wins and evil gets punished. Maybe she was just "heroic" at work and no one noticed. Or she really is a "butcher's girl" from a small village. Who is not beautiful ,too..... (I just watched a documentary about Korean beauty ideals and plastic surgery - oh damn Jesus, you don't have to suffer all that in the name of beauty) Humanity is what it is - the people must be fed and entertained - otherwise they will organize a rebellion or revolution. There is nothing new here in the world. And for hard core entertainment - .To get closer to the earth and human nature, we have to re-watch Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" in a small circle of friends (still with wine)...I don't know how many times. And I'm just re-reading the book it was based on - Conrad's "Heart of Darkness..."...But for young people (especially girls) it's still too strong stuff...Let them watch beautiful films until the apocalypse reaches them. It will reach them one day anyway. The hero's journey anyway......And heroine journey , to.......with tears and laughter.....with good wishes....

Enjoy the Chinese version of Astrid Lindgren's "Pippi Longstocking" story. A little whipped cream and a prince on top. A little "Cinderella" and the age-old story of how a girl finds a half-dead handsome boy, brings him back to life and what happens then? Of course, it doesn't usually go so well - but who wants to cry in front of the TV anyway.. The film was great and what's especially great - things get passionate when a) the woman drinks a lot of wine, or b) the man is given an "aphrodisiac".....But those bad guys, those "bad boys" - they are passionate by nature. In this film, as always, the cutest .... Long live the "Global Campaign for Women's Empowerment" and what else, girls, if not "shoes, booze and a man with tattoos...."

In a way I understand you. But - look at these dramas with a different eye. Namely - there are about twenty so-called "basic stories" in the world, from which anything can be made at all. They are myths. And fairy tales. They are the only ones that deeply touch people. Of course, in today's world, you have to put a proper "jam and whipped cream" on them so that the "dear world" will eat them. And the actors don't have to be able to act. They have to be beautiful. Because people make "gods" out of them. And when the gods are wrong, they trample the mud.... Some gods also become good actors when they get old. Well, when they are no longer so pretty.. I watch these films with this eye, with a good wine and a nice snack in the evening.... And this "Pursuit of Jade" reminded me of the Chinese version of Astrid Lindgren's "Pippi Longstocking". And a little "Cinderella" on top of that .and then also the Egyptian version of Cinderella about Princess Nitokris. Oh yeah - the bad guys are always cute. Especially in this movie. And in general - anyway, a week later I won't remember what exactly happened in which drama......

Oh - I liked it ... I always fell asleep comfortably in the second third of each episode ... If you try to put together a cliché story about revenge with a philosophy textbook, which is carried by the two main characters with numb faces and with a hint of mandatory "women's empowerment" also included - it is simply impossible to make a better "sleeping pill". I have never seen the two actors who were in the lead roles before ... Or the director was unable to give depth to these characters ... And the conversation between these young people - like two tired old men of seventy years old who have seen life ... Who writes something like that? . It's possible that it was, as usual, about money. We'll finish the film quickly - the audience watches and admires the two main characters (so what, the acting was questionable) and everyone has a great time. Films before 2020 are still pretty good with acting. But when it turned out that stars are chosen based on their appearance there (which is not uncommon in Hollywood, too), then sleeping during the film is quite normal.....I guess it was a good film. I opened my eyes before the end - they were riding somewhere. After all, they were not dead and there was a happy ending.....And of course, the fault could also be that before this drama I watched "The Longest Day in Chang'an". Where there is nothing to complain about...... And sleepingwas excluded . Sorry.....

I'm generally too lazy to write something constantly and I don't think my opinion matters, but - oh joy and happiness...For once, a drama where the "god of war" doesn't look like a decorated "flower boy" with dazzling makeup and flowing curls. He's a more or less twenty-year-old "beauty" who manages to change her lipstick even during battle...Recent "demon lords" and other tough generals are more feminine than women...Since I watch movies out of interest in mythology and to understand so-called trends, it seems that the more time goes by, the more babyish the men in Chinese dramas are.I haven't gotten any further with the movie yet, but a masculine and not "Caucasian" facial features ML- I guess I'll keep watching....I understand that this "sensitive cute" man is a new trend (South Korea was a shock for me. Where did you guys hide?) but still.......When a "demon lord" or "god of war" looks varnished, matted, made up and embroidered in a flowing dress, like my 25 year old neighbor's wife on her anniversary in Europe ......it's starting to feel more and more to me that the earlier, pre-2020 movies were more authentic, the acting was better. Now it's somehow "jam and cookies" ......SORRY....
Ten points and then another ten after watching the newer dramas. Enjoyable from start to finish. The story itself is great, but I was especially fascinated by the actors. Their faces "lived", their characters were believable. Each person in the film was written out separately. And the actors played it out. The female protagonist and the male protagonist - absolute favorites .... Kudos to the director. I tend to leave the latest so-called "hits" unfinished .... Because the acting is dull and you can smell money and rushing ... But this series - molten gold and pure poetry ..... and a bit of wholesome humor in this dark story. Well, just like in life

i was wondering but is this based off of a novel? or is it an original? if there is a novel i would love to read…
This story is based on the whole so-called "female dream literature" - especially the entire work of Jane Austen and a little bit of Rosamunde Pilcher, Maeve Binchy, Kate Morton, Elizabeth Jane Howard, and Joanna Trollope. I am not a viewer of such "estrogenic pink lollipops". I tried it out of interest - well, nothing.......But I understand those who watch. AAh - R. Pilcher has a book worth reading" The shell seekers ". There is even something philosophical and thoughtful in it ... But still feminine. And Austin is a classic for everyone who loves "prince on a white horse..."

Why the hell do you have PTSD? It's not worth despairing after the "tears" reaction of the panic department.... But try again - you know "Hard in training, easy in battle...." Well then you can also gently dry the tears of a crying colleague with a silk embroidered handkerchief,.

It's cold and dark outside - so before going to sleep and knitting a warm pink sweater, you need to watch something on TV.....So "Glory"....A film where the well-known and wonderful "Demon Lord" plays a brave, brave, just and wonderful civil servant. I didn't really expect anything, but since a tea plantation in a warm climate is a small change from the ear-deep snow, I watched it...The beginning was a traditional "wedding procession of beauty and heroic struggle." with a herd of money-hungry suitors..And with the main suspect, who was as gentle as a dove and as patient as Buddha himself. Well, of course, he was a "unspeakable villain" Classical story.........But then I started to like the female protagonist. Or - a woman who always checks properly who the men who make her "calf eyes" and swear eternal loyalty are. That girl still made a difference - what is what. And didn't trust anyone until the trump cards were in his hands ....And he did the right thing Because the last test in the family (which was like a madhouse buffet with a sadistic head doctor) was the last test.....Does the male protagonist take prestige, power and money along with good career prospects (and endless intrigue, power struggles with a scheming sister-in-law and a nephew who has already been taught to manipulate) - or will the boy come to his senses and decide to live a normal life.....Smart girls always test men - being in love from "ears" to "tails" does not have to mean trusting....OOH - the same advice for men. Test, test and test again..And have good sex in between - there is something to remember, even if your loved one finally asks you to close the gate from the outside.....What would that woman have done.......

I completely agree with you! This little gem was very underrated when it aired, but the warmth of the characters,…
I agree with you - but since films have to bring in "MONEY" and the producer also wants to make money, it may not go so well. And since there is this disaster called "Coroners diary" ahead, we can expect again those many headpieces in the autopsy chamber, more gorgeous clothes and other little beauties that would attract viewers. It is possible that the warmth and credibility that was in the first series will be lost in this turmoil. The filmmakers must have the backbone and courage so that they are not run over by "a donkey with a load of gold".....
On The Unclouded Soul Jan 7, 2026
The happiest ending movie I've ever seen. And what a reward for a "pure soul"....To roam endlessly in "time without old age".. with loved ones. I can't remember anyone in the entire history of culture who would have done better.......And an adventurous and happy year to everyone.....
On The Imperial Coroner Dec 5, 2025
I watched this drama a year ago. And it was a great watch. And the characters in the movie were believable. FL in particular immediately seemed very familiar. I have a former classmate who was interested in biology, human structure and the causes of diseases from a young age. Also a bit simple, warm-hearted and with a very sharp mind. She was the one who once shouted to me from the gate "I had a wonderful day today - I got my own personal corpse. It deserves two proper champagnes..." Her husband is also a bit similar to ML. Not exactly as handsome as that prince, but somehow likeable, balanced and also sharp,. An electronics engineer. Can fix anything that has chips inside and that goes to the wall with wires.... I believe in those characters in the movie.... And then I watched "Coroner's Diary" out of interest. Which seems like a plagiarism made with a little more money. A bunch of costumes, hair ornaments, other fanciful little things and the whole story.....None of the characters were believable. And the actors didn't seem to believe it either. Apparently they were more famous (I had seen ML somewhere - I don't remember where). I understand that the hot topic (women as coroners) needs to be repeated and repeated and repeated. No, "women's empowerment" and other modern stuff. But in terms of interest, there could have been "a firefighter's diary" or "a gunpowder master's diary" or whatever..... Anyway, I'm waiting for the second season of this movie and I still think that sometimes "less is more"... Sorry.

An unexpectedly great viewing. A bit of folklore, a few murders, the infinitely cute Su WuMing and YinTao, the irreplaceable drunkard, the Miracle Doctor, and two characters in love and fighting for justice......A decent fairy tale for adults. Before bed, two series of warm tea and the dreams will be exciting, but not scary...We are waiting for the sequel, because until one couple becomes rulers and the other couple becomes the prime minister and his lover, there is nothing good to hope for in the Tang Dynasty.....
On Fight for Love Nov 19, 2025
I discovered Chinese long romantic series only this year, so I'm not exactly a first-rate expert. But oh my goodness - pure comedy and super funny. Since I realized that this is a film about passionate feelings between a female general and a male general, I watched it with two female military acquaintances. Oh the excitement and screaming when they watched this film ..... they asked me to make them such hairstyles for the next training (with flowers and other, wonderful gadgets) and to borrow a long dress to fight in close combat. We firmly believe that even after a proper mortar and a battered enemy, the dresses are intact and the hairstyle is perfect ....And the actress was a true general - with the same face she looked at her lover, emperor, sister, enemy, dog. A real "poker face". A real treat for modern "women's empowerment" films. Hurray and flowers.... The real treat was the male protagonist - a miraculous beauty who quickly kills all enemies and is afraid of puppies .My companions had never seen such a phenomenon before - they were thrilled and promised to start experimenting. We didn't have a puppy to scare their fellow fighters right away, but we borrowed a white rat from the vivarium to start with. Maybe there will be a handsome man in their unit who would roll his eyes sweetly at the sight of a rat, or maybe even scream a little.....And the romance, this romance was unparalleled - during the long stares on the screen accompanied by their beautiful music, I managed to make a lot of sandwiches in the kitchen. That's how it should be..Oh well - as always - the most handsome male actor is cast to play the villain. Who is of course dead in the end. With a woman, hopefully. Tell them that "beauty will save the world"....But otherwise a good comedy. I recommend it. With a group of people with a sense of humor...

Oh, what a great drama. Finally! There's nothing better for a "proper girl" to do before bed than watch a few episodes of cute assassins. Great scheming, deceitful maneuvers, purposeful digging of holes for enemies. And it seems to me that the actors enjoy these roles. Because there's something to play. In the background, "Black humor from above" with a quiet smile. It's already clear that the main characters are great. But the man who comes out of the coffin from time to time - that's real gold and pure poetry. And the sinful and greedy side of human nature with a little sugar - pure fun and enjoyable watching. Oh yeah - the women in the film are also among the pluses. No fragile female creatures with childish voices who fall into the arms of ML to the accompaniment of deafening violin music. Cruel, gentle and excellent film with artistic work and colorful language. Ten points so far from me. A glass of good wine and small sandwiches with good and better are already waiting for the evening. I hope that the ending is beautifully tragic, terrifying and hopeful....

Watched the drama. And I kept thinking about "The Ingenious One." Which was much better. The story, the subplots, the acting, the art work of the film and everything else. The main character was a very handsome man. Later I found out that he was very famous too... Let's hope he gets something really good to play

Is it only me who is a drama watching veteran and grew up on Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese dramas which used…
I may not be the right person to answer - but still. The world has become faster and people have become more "impatient", so to speak. Not all, but the tendency is. It is possible that it is this little "weapon" called a mobile phone in our hands. If you once had to get dressed and go to the library to get information, now you can press a button in your pajamas and slippers and voilà -The whole world is there. Films were watched in the cinema (along with everything else nice and a little sinful that went with it). And it was nice when a new series of an exciting film came out once a week. You could immediately buy wine and other goodies and watch it. It was an event. Actually, I watch films (now Chinese films) out of interest in mythology. And especially the transformation of this basic "hero myth". And other eternal archetypes as well. In both falling and rising cultures. I myself am a representative of this so-called "slow life". And some younger people may also turn there when this "impatience" passes. Whether this now answers the question - I have no idea. But I plan to watch this series too - I am going to my "shabby chic" porch, where familiar wild foxes (waiting for something "good") are waiting for me, I comb my cat, sip wine and watch a film on the internet. Someone " "impatient" probably invented internet .. Otherwise I would watch the cat and the foxes chase each other in the garden every night.....So this modern impatient world has a good side too.
On The Journey of Legend Sep 27, 2025
watched the whole movie out of interest in hero myths. It was a great movie and with a really happy ending. As in a proper myth - bad boys and bad girls are the most charming and beautiful. So is this movie. But that's not the best. The best thing is that the "hidden protagonist"( and the most handsome actor in movie ) Liu Sui Feng ends the happiest. He doesn't exactly have a happy beginning - abandoned, suffering and not particularly cared for by anyone. And yet he is smart, not too trusting, not too "good", knows how to be grateful where necessary and also make sacrifices (when nothing else helps). Loyal - but not in a stupid way. And hurray - he finally gets the most beautiful girl (who is not a gentle bird but loyal, sweet , cute ,patient and intelligent).... All the other characters (the invisible "middle child", the youngest son "golden egg" and the oldest "annoyingly fair and "proper" will disappear into eternity.....Where is their place in the myth. And yet - the young "golden egg" will come back someday, but a little wiser - maybe if he happens to find the next spy who steals, cheats, etc....then he will never again announce loudly - "I'm going to the police with this evidence...."That means death for sure .....The simple-minded "boy" must disappear - otherwise there will be no passionate and loyal "red phoenix" for you. Great..
