Sometimes Silly Time Travel Period Piece
I learned so much about history. and food, and society watching this. I hope some of it was accurate. This story takes serious things with too little importance and light hearted things with too much seriousness. Yet it is still delightful and a pleasure to watch.
the interesting relationships between the branches of the royal family and the importance the concubines play in everyday life is fascinating if true.
The too cute love story between the main character and the queen and the time travel while essential to the story, also kind of drag it down a little. Still worth watching.

It shows a lot of different ways love occurs, in an everyday way
I couldn't love an actor more than Huang Chin Chi. Both he and the actor who playesd his little brother in this short film were very good. It was a well written story, but the real delight was that the acting was entirely facial and physical. You could have deleted the dialog and soundtrack and still had quite the same experience, that is how good they were.People will tend to complicate the reviews here. If you love stories about love, if you have ever loved a sibling, if a parent has ever loved you distantly and unconventionallly, if you've ever had to take a minute, this 16ish minutes will light up your soul.
I rated highly because it made me remember when love was simple, and the only answer, before life got difficult and confusing.
I hope to see Huang Chun Chi in more prominent and starring roles in the future. His skills are excellent.

Without Devices or Social Media In One of The Most Beautiful Cities on Earth.
I highly recommend this. i would love to reach through the screen and pick up some of the people and put them with the person that cares the most about them. This show is so worth watching. I usually only like Gay themed shows, but this is beautiful, unique, engaging and well made
Spoilers:
Why is Yudai willing to throw away his friendship with Kensuke for a girl that clesrly does not want him when there is a beautiful, delightful girl who so clearly does. Why purposely break two hearts instead taking a chance?
Why must Maho forsake the guy who clearly likes her and thinks of her first, just because the selfish childish boy can't return her affections? Why take away nothing, when there is a chance for everything?

Choose your own ending
The first time I watched, I watched all the way through. Now I watch right up until Yu Xi Gu leaves for the grocery store, turn it off, and pretend it ends there.it isn't so sad that way, and doesn't make you hate all the time you've spent watching it. Except for all of the violence, class disparity and family abandonment, this is in my top 10 BL dramas, as long as I stop it at the right point.
Not to say it isn't beautiful the way it is written, and I love that part too, but just for feeling great about the rematch, for me, it is easy to leave the end off.

One Room Angel Vibes with Sex, Violence and Guns Instead of Shy Romance, Feathers and Mystery
realistic and gritty film making. Nothing slick and over produced (notice in the earliest scenes of the camera trailing behind the car, no image stabilizing there, it really gave the feeling of being in a car on a bumpy road trailing).Lots of sex and romance here, steamy, dirty, car and motel sex.
Some really unrealistic human trafficking sex (pretty sure the Yakuza don't buy adult teen boys for book keeping, assassinations, surprise attack violence and dainty little bj's on the office sofa).
