Simple but decent food drama
I liked the simplicity of this drama, it’s not over the top or too deep with its storylines, which made it a nice, casual watch where you don’t have to focus too much. The actors all did a great job. Episode 9 felt a bit slow, almost like it was dragging unnecessarily, and episode 10 started off slow but then felt rushed toward the end, which made it a little confusing. Since it’s a show centred around food, it’s important that the dishes look appealing enough to make the audience want to try them, and I have to say, they really delivered on that. Was this review helpful to you?

Good, not great.
I found the show a little rushed in the first few episodes, as well as in the second-to-last episode and certain points throughout the series where I wanted more explanation. Jay and Calvin’s storyline was good but definitely deserved more airtime, while Jimmy and Ohm’s storyline was handled quite well in my opinion. The main couple, Zee and Nunew, unfortunately felt a bit forced at times. While I may sound somewhat negative, there are still plenty of strong moments in the series, with some really well-executed scenes and solid performances from the entire cast. Was this review helpful to you?

a comfort show perhaps?
I find Cooking Crush to be a real comfort show. The story is simple and predictable at times, but that’s true for many series. What makes this one enjoyable is that the acting is solid, the main story is decent, and the side couple adds a nice touch. While a few scenes might feel a little slow, there are far more moments that are fun and heart warming, making it a pleasant watch overall. A big shoutout to Aungpao, his acting in the series was really impressive considering he is a junior. Was this review helpful to you?

Average, made me feel sleepy at times
Okay, let’s dive in. The acting overall was pretty mediocre. Honestly, the side characters outshone the main couple by far. I hate to say it, but the leads. especially Jos, often came across as awkward, forced, and dry, which made it hard to feel any real chemistry between them. On the other hand, the supporting cast did a surprisingly good job; maybe their script was easier to work with, maybe not—who knows. The story felt like one of those that sounds decent on paper, but the execution ended up just… average. The effects were a bit odd, though I can’t really hold that against the production. As the title of my review suggests, this drama was honestly something I’d put on before bed, because it had a way of putting me to sleep.
