Pretty to Look At, Hard to Sit Through
Pretty boring. After the first few episodes, I completely lost interest in the main couple. I’m not someone who needs constant relationship drama to stay engaged, but they simply didn’t give me anything compelling overall.I ended up staying for the other two couples, and the amount of screentime they received was honestly laughable.
I appreciate the attempt at social commentary, but the way it was executed felt almost cartoonish at times.
It’s definitely not the worst thing I’ve seen, and visually it was beautiful, but it lacked the most important element: a captivating story. I had to force myself to watch the last two episodes. Even the final conflict wasn’t interesting, since the outcome was so obvious.

A Promising Premise With Room for Deeper Exploration
The premise of the show was solid, and overall it was an enjoyable watch. I’ll admit there were moments where I genuinely got excited about certain scenes. The acting was good as well.Even though the multiverse plot was interesting, what really caught my attention was the stalking and obsession aspect. I wish they had explored that more deeply and shown real consequences... not just the whole “he was good to me, so I’ll forgive him” angle. Yes, I did want them to be endgame, but I still would’ve liked a deeper look into Cir’s character and how his family situation shaped him into who he is.
The secondary couple was cute, though their development was a bit odd at the beginning, definitely some boundary issues there.
I’d probably rewatch it. It’s a premise with a lot of potential, maybe even enough for a second season.

Strong Cast, Weak Script: A Series That Deserved Better
I’m completely in love with this cast, which is probably why writing this review feels harder than usual.Their performances were solid; my issue was entirely with the script. With so many couples, the screentime wasn’t structured well. We lost the first episodes to misunderstandings and pointless fights that could have been resolved with basic communication, especially when there was supposed to be a much bigger external threat in Tony. And once the story finally started to take off, there were barely any episodes left to develop it properly. The ending felt so rushed that it left me with an empty, unfinished feeling.
I truly appreciate the cast’s effort in making this work as best as they could. However… Change really needs to improve.

A Long-Awaited Omegaverse Adaptation That Almost Gets It Right
As an avid omegaverse consumer, I was genuinely happy to finally see those elements portrayed in a TV series. The casting was excellent, the actors did a great job and the overall production quality was solid as well. The script could have been stronger, though. I understand the limitations caused by Chinese censorship, but my main issue was the pacing. It started off slow and then suddenly sped up. I think the story either needed better pacing or more episodes to fully develop everything the way it deserved.
It was a shame we didn’t get to see more of the second couple, their storyline ended up unfinished.
I really enjoyed the characters, especially because I love complex personalities that aren’t simply black and white. Huayong was fascinating to watch; he’s easily one of my favorite characters so far.

I enjoyed it for what it is
I feel like a lot of people are judging this series based on the expectations they had in their head, instead of what the show actually is. And like… I get it, I was frustrated with some things too. I do wish they had taken more risks with the couples, especially if they were gonna lean into that whole “Only Friends” vibe. But honestly? I enjoyed it for what it is. It’s overall pretty fun to watch. I have to admit, Dean and Jack were the least interesting to me at first, but the last few episodes??? they kinda grew on me 😭 I lowkey hoped the show would be bold enough to not keep them together, or maybe have them find each other again later when they’re more mature.
I stayed for Rome and Raffy, but I really wish we got more depth from them as characters. Actually, I feel like that’s true for all the characters...we needed a bit more exploration overall. The first season definitely isn’t perfect, and yeah there were moments of frustration, sadness, and even disappointment… but at least I could understand the characters. Here, I get them, but I don’t feel as connected.
That being said, I still had fun watching it!!
P.S. Tua and Arnold were cute, but they just didn’t do it for me overall. Like I like them, I’m happy for them… I just don’t care that much 😭
P.P.S. huge props to all the actors and the crew!! you can really see the effort that went into this. It’s not my fave of the year, but I genuinely enjoyed it, and I could see the improvement in some performances and how others absolutely shined 😊

When a cast just hits every time
Solid cast, solid acting.Honestly impressed, there wasn’t a single episode I didn’t enjoy.
This is what happens when you put that many great actors in one project.
JimmySea’s chemistry was on point as always, and the acting was honestly masterful (wouldn’t expect anything less)
With some recent disappointments, it was refreshing to finally watch something I genuinely enjoyed from start to finish.
Overall super enjoyable and really cute.
Loved First as the villain, they need to give my man more roles like this.

This Show Ruined Me (In a Good Way)
Easily one of my favorites of the year. It actually encouraged me to look deeper into the historical events that inspired the series, and I loved that even though the story focuses more on the romance, the historical context was treated with the respect it deserved.Apo and Mile delivered beautiful performances; I genuinely connected with both of their characters.
The second couple completely stole my attention—and my heart. Their ending broke something in me. Even though I expected it, since it was the most realistic outcome, a part of me was still hoping for a happy ending.
The casting and production were excellent, but that’s something we’ve come to expect from BOC. I’m truly pleased that this story did not disappoint.
