yes what is this weird epidemic of kdramas lacking… theyve really turned jnto western media almost and lack a lot of originality. I swear its all about trends and hype like for an example jisoos drama “boyfriend on demand” has A list celebritys but its such a poorly executed concept that’s overplayed in the media. Same comedy romance which is fine but in general makes kdramas lose in writing. Story telling is so annoying and overplayed…

definitely had a lot of holes and had its bad moments but the stories were nice and creative. i really enjoyed bai lu and xing yue pired up here and definitely was worth it to finish but not the best drama out there.

yess the older times feels so raw and deep and the lead up to the romance is so satisfying and more wholesome!!

i think its overdone and theres still a lot fo dramas in modern times but its everywhere and i hate it if we saw a drama set in 2026 there would be so much AI and whatnot. The timeline of 90s and 80s is refreshing and interesting. But i get it, i recommend a lot of ongoing kdramas right now! theyre super up to date in the year and romance

RIGHT the story line here has a lot of loopholes the emperor character is very flawed in terms of the story and plot because 1. he is literally the cause of every womens suffering and death. 2. He is weirdly kind to peyi but wont believe her with the investigation despite him knowing that peyi solved many many cases. Like he’s genuinely so weird

I watched glory and enjoyed it but i think ml is too flirty for my liking (not a vad thing!! just looking for a “good boy” gentle type) Im really craving more ML like in Unveil jadewind! Thankyou for ur suggestion!!

OH THANK YOU FOR UR COMMENT!! however i tried moonlit reunion while it was airing and unfortunately i dropped it!! I absolutely loved the visuals and concept but the story transition felt choppy and my biggest issue was the ML acting. Im not sure if it is the acting or character but either way i didnt like the gentle and nonchalant execution!! ML was more on the quiet side it was hard to follow him through. For This drama, Xing yue facials for a simple character is broad and easy to follow, meaning I could figure out his personality and thoughts easily!! I can understand hes kind hearted and gentle! Im so sad i couldn’t enjoy moonlit reunion i tried to pick it back up but couldn’t:(

Xing yue plays such a soft and gentle ML its so different from his other roles and he absolutely killed it im lwk into gentle ML. GUYS can someone please give a list of costume dramas with gentle ML or side lead!! Im loving the strong FL and gentle ML dynamic!!

Never been the one to watch a drama for bai lu and this is my first drama of hers i always felt she was overrated but omg was i wrong… She is a phenomenal actress and ger role here is soo suitable. She definitely potrays the rebellious bad girl image well and her tomboy vibe but she can even pull of this feminine energy on the side which made me so impressed. Overall im really enjoying this show. The cases are soo good i definitely feel the high quality writing. Love the different perspectives on women without making them heavily glazed but rightfully showing their talent, struggle, and ability weather it for good or bad. Might check out kunning palace after!

YES said this so well also i have another theory why the ratings dropped quick it might be because of realistic veiws of womens suffering when i was watching i was amazed and sad and how real the dipiction was. I think becuase of others narrow minded veiws they dropped the rating and only watched becuase the cast has bai lu and many more!! what do you think!! Im so fascinated with all the storys its so sorrowful and butter but beautiful because of the characters and their stories. Truly this show is amazing and lowkey refreshing from all the anticipated actors and actresseses doing the same narrative. Especially with the general main characters and high on end love stories which feels unnecessary.

i agree but its also becuase its doesnt make sense how rating can be low when only 8 episodes are out its too early and ratings really influence other people to watch something or not but in mdl everyone likes ragebaiting and its not even about the show sometimes uts because people hate a actor or actress so much to make sure they ruin their new show which is unfair

no way this us a 7.8 lol everyones so petty this drama actually has a story and plot and the characters are so well written. The budget and cinematography is spectacular, even the outfits are highly made. I dont know why its rated this but im putting my money of the lack of romance which pmo cuz i find the slight romance really cute and slow burn is wonderful if its about romance go watch affimity which is literally your typical wattpad high hurn love story with poopy writing lmaoo
