Objectively, how good is this drama? I haven't started watching yet, but the rating is so high I'm really considering…
Me!✋️ I wasn't following this drama nor the leads and only started watching because I had some time. Didn't expect to get roped in right away. The first thing that caught me was the cinematography, it looked straight out of a painting, so beautiful! The visuals are stunning and the roles are refreshing. They avoid a lot of annoying character tropes and the characters (both male and female) individually are very capable and aren't afraid of standing up for themselves. You can't blackmail them into self sacrificing like most other good main characters, they know their rights and are not a pushover. So that was a big plus for me.
There's an interconnected overlying mystery which we slowly head towards while walking alongside our seemingly simple but strong (both physically and mentally) fml, who picked up a very much not simple partner one morning in the snow. The relationships between the pairs develop very naturally and they grow very protective of each other. The supporting characters aren't obnoxious and they are well placed within the story’s framework, some of them are extremely compelling even. I'm looking forward to how the reveals happen and how the political aspects are handled because right now we are still at the beginning and only the pieces have been placed on the board. I'd say give it a try and see for yourself what you think.
I really feel like the episodes are getting better and better. Loved ep12 and loving 13 too, it's getting so interesting that I'm starting to feel impatient😭 How will I handle one episode a day when it gets into the big events!
I'm glad we as the audience can feel it. Most times they make this behavior feel romantic, or only show that the…
Exactly. There's this unsettling and intense atmosphere and you can really feel her reactions even without knowing their backstory. Actually all of Qi Min's scenes felt really tense. That conversation with Yan Zheng was 👌👏 chef's kiss, I was at the edge of my seat. The actor is doing so well.
Qi Min and Qianqians story has me all invested hook, line and sinker. I don't know how he's doing it but you can really feel that sense of dread qianqian is feeling. He's so possessive, ruthless and always quietly hovering that it's inducing a strange feeling of suffocation.
Bao'er is so cute, poor baby always locked up and not being able to play like the rest. His friendship with changning is adorable, thank god for the little blessings🙏 Hope they can hang around and grow up together.
I could be in the minority since the plot doesn’t seem exciting but the lead couple’s chemistry is off the…
The visuals and cinematography alone would make people drawn to the drama, on top of that the acting and pacing is really good and natural. Add chemistry into that and you can really see why it has a 9 so far XD
I really love that the FL fights with a quarterstaff and small blades, which women can actually use much easier…
Yes! Her tying the blade to the staff made it resemble a naginata, which was famously wielded by female warriors. It's very suitable for their builds. These are also versatile and fast due to being light and ranged.
