It's sad to see so many people failing to understand the fl. While I understand if some of her actions can feel…
I majorly saw people disliking the ep 10-11 part where her insecurities return, saying it's undoing the character development. I disagree with this because I think it's trying to show how the process is nonlinear. And that no matter how much others or their presene help it's still her battle alone and only she can pull herself out of this. Relying and depending on someone cannot solve the problem by the roots and it's still conditional. Here's how I interpret it:
We see how GJ's presence helps UY feel better whenever she feels down because of her family or overthinking. He becomes a comfort place for her from all the negativity. But when she sees him in his workplace, the realisation hits her that he too is just as outstanding at his work and is no different from people like her brothers. The feeling of being a very mediocre person surrounded by extraordinary people starts returning. I don't think she actually meant that she hates him but how the person whose presence was providing her comfort from all those negative emotions is now also making her feel the same emotions. When she says that his words started feeling like a 'lie' it doesn't mean that she thinks he's lying but its like a very conventionally good loking person saying "looks don't matter". She gets intimidated by how easy things seem for him while she thinks she's no good in anything and struggling to find her future path/dreams. Moreover, being full of confidence and then suddenly getting hit by negative feelings all over again and self doubt is infact a very real thing. This arc made a lot of sense to me because I relate with ur greatly too. That being said I however wish their conversation on the stairs when they reconcile could've been more serious and sincere. It felt like they brushed it off too fast.
It's sad to see so many people failing to understand the fl. While I understand if some of her actions can feel frustruating. But it'd have been a different case if weren't shown why she is the way she is. However, we very clearly get to see her family situation, how she gets treated there and the root cause for her insecurities/low self-esteem. For me the representation of her insecurities and the whole family situation/dynamic was one of the strongest parts of the drama. It's very well done and so accurate to how many Asian families actually are. The fl does make mistakes. But the point is that she also accepts those mistakes. We see her self introspecting things too. And it's not like we don't see her growth, we do see her eventually gaining confidence and appreciating herself. At the end of the day she's also just a teenager trying to figure things out. It's only normal to make mistakes, feel confused and overwhelmed. Moreover, overcoming insecurities and gaining self love isn't so easy and simple. Idk if people think she could heal just because a handsome man likes her when we know she has been treated like a nobody and a failure all her life. She was overshadowed by her brothers (not to mention how the "perfect" brothers were suffering too), not allowed to do things she liked, we even had her mom say that she almost gave up on her. Healing from all of this isn't going to be easy and there are bound to be ups and downs. Her journey to self love and discovery is literally the MAIN plot of the drama. Maybe others don't relate to her but I don't think it's that difficult to see things from her pov. I also think that we can still disagree with someone's actions/behaviour while also understanding them at the same time. Well atleast that's how I feel :)
Hi friend, how have you been!!From what I can see, there’s a love triangle in the second leads’ relationship.…
I think the SML liking back FL a bit of an absurd assumption to make. I have nothing against making assumptions but then that way we can also assume what if her parents werent so trashy and treated her nicely. But it defies the whole point because then none of this would exist. The drama makes it a sure point that the SML and SFL are a thing and SML wouldn't fall for FL. Moreover, she has no obligation to like back ML just because he likes her. And they barely knew each other when he confessed. To me her liking SML apart for being the reason for her to join the club was yet another way to show her inferiority complex. Because she felt the sml is an amazing person and so is the SFL and she comes nowhere close to them let alone her coming between them. That it makes sense that them two like each other. While her relationship with the ML was pretty much the opposite. He because of his carefree self challenges her overthinking. And loves her for her real self. Which to her is like why would someone belonging to the same world as sml & sfl like her? A little cliche but it's just a drama afterall😄 There's also a clear realisation from her side that he's been supporting her always and her taking him for granted. If you've watched twinkling watermelon, there also Yichan chases the other girl(sorry I forgot the name) till ep 10 or 11 before he starts falling for Cheong Ah. Let's also call her a backup, shall we? Also I think this whole discussion is making it too serious than the drama truly is... :)
