She is smart, but uneducated and sometimes naive due to her age and limited experience. But she does have business acumen - how many young girls would sell their valuables to have capital to start a business to support herself and others? And find incentives to make customers choose her shop?

In the novel she explains that most people don't know how to cook offal and if she gave braised offal as freebies, she could use that as advertisement when she begins selling them for profit, and it will also make her broth stand out, as she was using quality ingredients, so people will be willing to buy more expensive braised pork meat from her.

She is the jade from the title, an unpolished one, as the marquis observes at one point.

It's in the novel. Frankly, it would have never passed her mind that she could find glory on the battlefield and become his equal if she hadn't killed the enemy general. And becoming his equal partner is a very important part of her story and that discussion about the stone, gold and jade could be one of the most memorable in a cdrama.

You are right. The drama has over 100 million views per day because people open their iqiyi/wetv daily to watch 1 second of the new episode.
It's not like it has a rating of 8.8 on weibo and 9.2 on mdl.
I will stop responding to you, it makes no sense to continue the discussion when you haven't watched more than 1 episode.

People were dragging the budget of the drama and the "substandard" special effects and fight scenes ... and then came this episode.
I felt shivers down my back twice while watching this show - the first time was the massacre of Lin'an and the second time was the last part of the episode from today. The director did a great job filming these scenes, when I was watching, it was like I was immersed in the action and the horror, and felt the adrenaline and the need to fight to survive no matter what.
Absolutely thrilling!

Both the author of the novel and the screenwriter are big on "actions have consequences" :
- He lied the food was scarce and made the soldiers dig for roots, she went and brought food to nourish the injured soldiers.
- He lied he was severely injured and unimportant on the battlefield, she took his place to save him from certain death.
There are examples for other events and characters, but I decided to stick to the marquis and his behaviour in the last couple of episodes

I really hope this conversation will be in tomorrow's episode. The screenwriter did a fantastic job adapting Love Like The Galaxy, so I don't think she will miss the occasion to use that awesome line in the dialogue.

When she climbed atop him it reminded me of the scene in the book where XZ watches her subdue a pig that was big enough that it needed handling by 2 or 3 men and she managed to do it by herself.

I am thankful for the censorship, I hate explicit content in visual media. Maybe they will flirt a bit? Or a bit more? 😁
The screenwriter adapted Love Like The Galaxy very well and I really liked how she handled the scene where Shaoshang visits Ling Buyi after he was punished by the emperor.
The director is romantically inclined as well.
Fingers crossed they will keep some of the banter from the novel once the leads become a couple.
