They do the express package even if they air the drama on Netflix or Viki at the same time, since this is the iqiyi and wetv subscription model.

Iqiyi even has special tiers for subscription to get the express for all shows (premium vip) and those subscribers will be pissed if they don't get what was promised aka advanced viewing - that subscription is not cheap.

Can you create a Netflix profile in English? In my country it works, Netflix almost never translates cdramas in my mother tongue, but allows you to view them with English subtitles

In Love Like The Galaxy they dropped some storylines, but it still had a satisfying ending as an adaptation. Same screenwriter.

In the novel the nanny was the one who drugged QQ and QM so they had sex. The reason was because she promised QM's mother (wufe of the crown prince who died 16y ago in the massacre) to take care of the royal blood line and she saw that QM was crazy and unfit to rule. So they needed his heir.
When QQ ran away pregnant, the nanny lost the heir to the throne and wanted him back to be taken care of. That's why she orchestrates his escape from QM.

Then we wouldn't have cared so much about the characters deaths when they happened. You can skip some story arcs and still be faithful to the original material as long as the characters and their motives are well defined.
