A Sweet and Gentle Remake About Finding Your Own Happiness

Your Sky: Hare Nochi Koi is the Japanese remake of the Thai BL series Your Sky, and while the basic story remains familiar, the Japanese version has its own gentle and innocent atmosphere.

Hinata and Sora's relationship is simple and straightforward. There are no complicated games between them. What makes their romance appealing is watching Hinata gradually understand his feelings and Sora patiently stay by his side.

The final episode focuses on something more important than simply whether the two boys will stay together: what does happiness actually mean?

Hinata's father imagines a conventional future for his son—finding a wife, having children, and building a warm family like the one he grew up in. His opposition comes from worrying about Hinata's future rather than from a lack of love for him.

But Hinata has his own answer. His happiness is spending his life with the person he truly loves.

When the family faces a difficult situation, Sora doesn't try to prove anything with words. He simply stays beside Hinata and supports him. Seeing the two of them care for each other finally allows Hinata's father to understand that his son's future may look different from the one he imagined, but it can still be a happy one.

The development is somewhat predictable, but I think it was an important way to complete the story.

Overall, this was a very cute and gentle BL drama. I especially enjoyed the innocence of Hinata and the calm warmth Sora brought to their relationship.

And yes, the seaside scene was beautiful—but watching two fully dressed young men splash around in the ocean made me wonder how they were going to get home in those soaking wet oversized jeans. 😂

As for the final NC scene...

Did we really need it? lol

But perhaps that was the drama's way of saying that Hinata and Sora are no longer simply dreaming about love. They have chosen each other and are beginning their life together.

A sweet ending for a sweet couple.
