Back then, you set out from a vast desert. At that time, you probably had no idea that the wind and sand before you would become the starting point of your acting career. Later, you ventured into new possibilities, seized the opportunities you desired, and repeatedly stepped in front of the camera, surrendering yourself again and again to each new role. There were moments when you felt fulfilled simply because you finally had a part to play, and gradually, you’ve reached this day—capable of taking on more complex stories and being seen by an ever-wider audience. We often use words like transformation, breakthrough, or becoming a better version of ourselves to describe growth. But only after walking through these ten years do we realize that so‑called growth is nothing more than starting over again and again; and reaching where we are today isn’t some sudden arrival, but rather the result of countless days when, unnoticed by others, you never gave up on yourself.
Over the past decade, you’ve become many different characters: the Green Snake, Cai Minmin, Little Lan Hua, Yun Weishan, Ling Miaomiao… Each of them has a completely distinct life, yet with your deep love for acting, you’ve entered their worlds time and again. Through your performances, they come alive, leaving indelible impressions on audiences—and in the process of becoming them, you’ve also grown into a broader, more expansive version of yourself.
Now, you find yourself once again by the sea, where the waves crash powerfully. From the Green Snake in the desert to the Sea Emperor who rules the four seas—the names of your roles have changed, the realms of your stories have shifted—but the person who yearns to act well and to go further seems to have remained constant all along.
Ten years is certainly a long time—long enough for a small name to be remembered by more and more people, and long enough for us to understand that everything you have today didn’t appear out of nowhere.
