The Core Storyline
The story follows Ji-Joo Ji, a second-year assistant manager (주임, juim) in his company's public relations department. Ji-Joo has been trapped in a deeply toxic professional dynamic, suffering from constant gaslighting and emotional manipulation by his superior, Team Leader Lee. Exhausted and looking for an escape, Ji-Joo has a wild, impulsive one-night stand with a handsome stranger he meets on his way home from a company dinner. The real drama begins when that exact same stranger walks into his office the very next day—not just as a new hire, but as Ji-Joo's direct subordinate.

From what I can find about this show. That Summer's Unrequited Love was officially been released under the title Summertime. Which aired in September 2026.

The ending was a bit much... Like she had a tiny little knife... Easily avoided. I hate the whole dive in from of a knife option people choose in shows. Their hands suddenly not able to come up and at least protect vital areas which is what would have happened.
The show was good up until that moment. But oh well. Still worth my time, because the rope work was amazing, plus explaining the effect it has on someones mind was good.
Spot on! The pinku eiga circuit played such a huge role in early Japanese queer cinema. Before modern commercial dramas became the norm, pink films gave indie filmmakers the creative freedom to tell these stories when mainstream studios wouldn’t touch them. It's really cool seeing that history recognized.
While they were required to include a minimum amount of nudity or intimate scenes to satisfy theatre contracts, they were distinct from hardcore adult videos.

> 🕒 **Premiere Date:** pre-production/development, casting call Announcement: The series adaptation was announced by producers YYDS Entertainment and Insight Entertainment. Timeline: It was initially slated for a 2025–2026 launch window, but as of mid-2026. > 📺 **Where to Watch:** [-] > 📝 ** Synopsis/info:** The Thai Boys' Love (BL) series adaptation of Violet Rain's novel Love Destiny from Hell is currently unreleased and in pre-production/development.
Original Author: Violet Rain (known for I Feel You Linger in the Air and The Hidden Moon).
Premise: An ordinary archaeologist named Matt Darcy gets his soul entangled with a grim reaper after accidentally interfering with the god of death's job. Producers: YYDS Entertainment and Insight Entertainment.
The original novel "Love Destiny from Hell" (ลิขิตรักจากนรก - Likhit Rak Chak Narok) is a dark, supernatural Boys' Love (BL) fantasy written by the popular Thai author Violet Rain. She is highly celebrated in the BL community for writing complex, emotionally rich narratives, most notably I Feel You Linger in the Air and The Hidden Moon.
Unlike her best-known historical time-travel romances, Love Destiny from Hell pivots into dark urban fantasy, mythology, and the afterlife.
The Core Plot The story follows Matt Darcy, a young and completely ordinary archaeologist whose life is turned upside down by a sudden family crisis. When his beloved younger brother's life is directly threatened by a mysterious, silver-haired man with cold, deathly eyes, Matt steps in to protect him.
Expecting to fight off a human murderer, Matt is shocked to discover that he is actually confronting a Grim Reaper (a God of Death).
By physically interfering with the reaper's reaping duties to save his brother, Matt commits a grave supernatural transgression. As a consequence, his own soul becomes forfeit. Instead of a swift death, however, Matt's interference inadvertently entangles him with the cold, ruthless reaper. The two become locked in a twisted, unbreakable spiritual bond, trapping them both in an inescapable and seemingly eternal cycle.
