It’s not just about putting a woman on screen as the lead, it’s about making the story, its conflicts, its ambitions, and the characters’ entire emotional journeys the true heart of the narrative. And don’t even get me started on the casting. EVERY SINGLE CHOICE IS PERFECT. The actresses are DELIVERING!!!
The back-to-back run of eps 15 and 16 was probably the most INSANE thing i’ve watched in cdramas this year. Like, WOW!!!!!!! acting, directing, and writing were all on another level. Two absolutely phenomenal episodes.
Justice to ML character; he is not a prop or a backdrop. We need to know his story. Give Yan An screen time!
i think Yan An is doing really well for a story that is and needs to be focused on the women. His popularity has grown so much since the premiere, thanks to his amazing dynamic and impeccable chemistry with Xiwei!!!
I respectfully disagree. i think the writing is doing a hell of a lot more than just delivering great emotional moments. The story has a really solid momentum to it, and at no point does it feel like it’s dragging. Like, this drama is managing to carry 15-, 20-, even 30-minute sequences built around things the audience already knows, and STILL keeps us completely hooked. We barely even get a chance to breathe while watching. That’s not a sign of a story running out of steam, it’s a sign of a script that knows exactly what it’s doing. Keeping people on the edge of their seats when they already know the context and the stakes is no easy feat, and I think that deserves way more credit than it’s getting. And as for the episode schedule, isn’t that how it usually works anyway?! 😂🤔
I just finished EP15 and… this might honestly be one of the most thrilling, devastating, and emotionally gut-wrenching episodes I’ve watched in cdramas in 2026? idk. The acting, the writing, the direction. Just pure ART.
I love how we’re already almost halfway through the episodes and everything about this story and its characters is still just as captivating as it was at the beginning, if not EVEN BETTER! The intrigue, the relationships, the acting, and especially the chemistry and dynamic between A-Chou and Lu Zhuo, which somehow manage to bring even more genuine smiles to my face with every episode. Zhou Mo’s writing is truly something special!!!!
I just finished EP14, and i genuinely couldn’t hold back my tears over A-Chou’s story. 😭💔 Everything she had to endure at such a young age… she was a victim of other people’s cruelty and selfishness from the very moment she was born. Even her own family, the very people who should have loved and protected her, failed her so terribly. It breaks my heart to think about everything she had to go through. No one, especially not someone so young and innocent, should ever have to suffer like that. My heart aches for you, A-Chou. I’m so, so sorry you had to endure so much pain. You deserved so much better :(((
THAT SCENE IN EP 13. OMG. Xiwei and Yanan are actually INSANE. THE CHEMISTRY???? HELLO???? THEY’RE DOING IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAINNNN 😭😭😭 I’M LOSING MY MIND OVER THESE TWO!!!!!
I saw this on TikTok, but i’m not sure if it’s true. So, is there an even worse villain than Jundai coming? Is Wei Shu, Aunt Guo’s daughter (Guo Yu Feng), going to plot against A-chou after Jundai dies?
I genuinely didn’t expect to love Xiwei and Yan An’s dynamic and chemistry this much. They were such an unexpected surprise for me, and now i’m SO obsessed with them. THAT scene in EP11 has been living in my head rent-free for hours, and i still can’t stop thinking about it. I’M SO NORMAL ABOUT THEM (I’M NOT) 😭
