The chemistry between TXW and Yan An gets better with every ep, and their characters’ dynamic is becoming more and more fun too. If we get more scenes like that painting scene in EP6… i fear i won’t survive 😭
Episode 7 is SO GOOD?!!!! Probably the BEST one so far. A-Chou is one of the best FL i’ve seen on TV in a long time. It’s insane how literally EVERYONE is against her, and yet she still manages to outsmart them all and come out on top, even when she’s all alone. TXW is giving THE performance of her career.
I’ve seen some comments going around about Xiwei’s supposedly “over-the-top” acting, and i can’t help but wonder if people actually understand Wei Rao as a character. Xiwei is doing an incredible job portraying an authoritative, insanely selfish, manipulative woman with clear psychopathic traits. Wei Rao isn’t someone who knows how to be subtle, nor is she someone who cares about coming across as likable or hiding her arrogance. She’s domineering, unpredictable, and constantly needs to be in control, and all of that is reflected in the way she speaks, reacts, and carries herself. You can’t expect a restrained performance from a character like that without overlooking what makes her so interesting in the first place. Not every character needs to express their emotions subtly or fit into some standard of understated acting for the performance to be considered good. Sometimes, that intensity is an essential part of the character, and knowing how to bring it to life is a skill in itself. Personally, i think Xiwei understands Wei Rao perfectly and delivers a performance that does justice to her disturbing personality, massive ego, and hunger for power. Mistaking an expressive performance for bad acting is, perhaps, a sign that people aren’t looking at the character within the context of who she actually is.
I LOVE how both Wei Rao and A-Chou are such strong, intelligent, and cunning women. I thought we were gonna get the typical good twin vs. evil twin cliché in this drama, but what i’m seeing in these first few episodes is two women who are both willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want and will never let anyone stand in their way.
The first 4 eps are SO GOOD!!! ❤️🔥i’m loving the intrigues, the little twists and turns so far, and how complex the main characters are. There’s already so much depth to the story, and i can’t wait to see how everything unfolds. And Xiwei!!! I’ve never seen her act like this before, she’s absolutely KILLING IT! i’m so impressed with her performance, the emotions she brings to her character, and how captivating she is in every scene. She’s seriously eating this role up, i’m obsessed.
What an intense first episode!!!! Tian Xiwei’s acting is absolutely breathtaking. Wei Rao is definitely a crazy DIVA 😂 and i’m so curious to learn more about A-Chou…
I’m so happy it’s getting a global release on Netflix!!!! Another international success for Tian Xiwei 🥹❤️she truly deserves all the love and recognition
8/10. An amazing drama with some of the best action scenes i’ve ever seen in a Korean production and an insanely talented cast.
Even though it couldn’t quite maintain the ridiculously high quality of its first few episodes, it still managed to stay engaging until the very end. I honestly don’t think Minji’s rescue needed to take up the main focus of so many episodes. We could’ve seen Agent Kim, Han-Su, and Park Jin-Cheol going on other interesting adventures instead.
But i have a feeling SBS won’t waste the massive success this drama is having (it’s basically their new Taxi Driver) so i’m pretty sure a second season is coming. And honestly, i’m excited to see what they’ll come up with next.
Anyway, i just want to say that i’m SO READY to see So Ji-sub walk up on that stage and take home his DAESANG AWARD 🎉🏆
