Tbh, the hate thy r getting isn’t even criticism, it’s just pure hate. I understand some ppl didn’t like PC & that’s fine, but this goes beyond criticism. Meanwhile, the records clearly show general audience r loving it. every week the ratings & scores keep going up, not down.

The criticism isn’t actually coming from the general Korean public. Episode 12 was the highest-rated episode among all dramas released this year, which clearly shows that the general audience did not boycott it. In fact, they supported the cast and made it one of the most successful episodes.

The backlash is mainly coming from certain K-netizens and haters. They have been criticizing from the beginning, but this time they simply found a better opportunity and used it to escalate things to this level

In the scene that was criticized, it's all Byeon Woo Seok's scenes but IU doesn't leave him alone, they both face this together. The arrows of criticism towards Wooseok were also borne by IU, same parallel lines as in the drama and it gives me goosebumps

the fact iu & wooseok posted at the exact same time really makes it obvious that they sat down, discussed everything carefully, and mutually decided to put out statements together to finally put an end to all the outrage and nonstop attacks.

honestly, it says a lot about how responsible and considerate they are that they still chose to face the situation directly despite the insane amount of hate, pressure, and unnecessary judgment thrown at them.

i genuinely hope after all of this, both of them only walk on a flower path & stop being subjected to so much unnecessary hate & judgment over every little thing. they only deserve peace, support, kindness, & good things in this world after everything they've had to endure. 🤍

You do make a fair point, but it’s still completely unacceptable that they are becoming the main targets of criticism in this situation. The people who should actually be held accountable are, unfortunately, receiving far less backlash than they deserve. Right now, it honestly feels like MBC and the production team are using the actors as shields to protect themselves from criticism, placing the burden and knetz outrage on the very people who had the least control over the situation.

I understand that the production team made a mistake, but why do the actors have to bear the brunt of it? Why are they receiving so much hate, and why are they the ones expected to apologize? None of this was their responsibility in the first place — it was the production team’s job. So why are they facing the harshest criticism over something they didn’t control? Isn’t this unfair to them?

I’m sorry but attacking IU because her apology was typed instead of handwritten is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen today, you can literally feel how sincere and heavy her words are, but some people are so determined to hate her that they’ll nitpick the format instead of the actual message.

No matter what she does, they’d still twist it into something negative and that’s what’s really frustrating.

So let me get this straight. Before the director yells action, IU—who is famously and humbly still rocking a basic iPhone 14 with a cracked screen—is supposed to pull out her phone and what? Realize she doesn’t have the latest built-in Gemini AI to magically scan and fact-check props sitting in a completely different palace set?! 😭😂💀

The sheer insanity of these toxic, organized political mobs is off the charts. They are literally pausing screens to count beads on Byeon Woo-seok’s crown and tracking props just to force handwritten apologies.

I’m actually quite satisfied with the drama overall. But my only dissatisfaction comes from the fact that, compared to IU’s last four or five projects, this one feels a bit underwhelming. The drama clearly had a lot of potential, but the director, production team, and MBC didn’t manage to execute it to its full standard. That’s where my disappointment comes from.

And honestly, I don’t really care what anyone says — and that includes you. The only reason I even responded that day was because you kept jumping into the comment section, unnecessarily interfering in other people’s opinions and telling others what rating they should give or what they should or shouldn’t do with the ratings.

Now it’s honestly a bit ironic seeing you repeatedly commenting under a drama you supposedly don’t even like. That alone says a lot about who is actually obsessed here.

It’s also one of the top three highest-performing dramas on average ratings since the era of Queen of Tears.

And on top of that, it became the most-viewed Korean title premiere of all time on disneyplus globally. Do you realize how insane that is?

The drama was really good, and I enjoyed it a lot. What I meant is that it wasn’t on the same award-winning level as When Life Gives You Tangerines, My Mister etc. Still, it was genuinely a very enjoyable and well-made romcom drama. I truly appreciated the effort everyone put into it, and I hope we’ll get even better dramas from them in the future.

I honestly think IU was given the original script during casting, because there’s no way someone as selective with scripts as her would’ve agreed to what actually ended up in the drama. Maybe it got revised after she signed on, which would also explain why she said she didn’t fully know the script on the day of filming
