A lovely, lovely story!

What a truly lovely story!
Our two main characters, Han Yeo Reum and Lee Soo Yeon were charming and endearing, each, in their own way. I was hooked from the first episode. They pulled at my heartstrings every time they were together. When Soo Yeon told Yeo Reum “Let’s love”, I wanted to cry for him. He was desperate to be in that moment with her with no pressures and no thought of a future he couldn’t see. “Let’s just be here together and love.”
Even though MasterJang asked her to help him stop Soo Yeon so he could get treatment and live, she questioned if it was right to force that on him if he wanted to live for now. As much as Yeo Reum wanted to be recognized for her work and accomplishments, her actions were always about the others, especially Soo Yeon. You could tell how blown away he was over how she cared for and loved him regardless of his physical condition.
A truly lovely couple.
The chemistry between the great Lee Je Hoon and the beautiful, elegant Chae Soo Bin was exceptional. I would go so far as to say it was perfect chemistry. Both are strong actors. I first saw CSN in When The Phone Rings. She was incredible there. At 21 and about 8 years younger, she is just as incredible here. She gave a completely believable performance as Yeo Reum. LJH is excellent in every role I’ve seen him in. His performance in WSL was no less excellent. I did not see LJH, I saw Lee Soo Yeon.
The story itself is not perfect but it is interesting. And while not boring, the backstories of our main leads did feel incomplete. I wanted to know more about the brothers; more clarity about why the villans wanted to ‘off’ Soo Yeon; what is the fuller story about Yeo Reum’s parents and why did she ‘meet’ them in autumn when she was born in the summer?
About some of the other characters I wanted to know: why Yang Seo Goon wanted to divorce Choi Moo JA (one had to figure out for themselves they were married but separated); what was Yeo Reum’s secret exactly; what was the big deal with Manager Jo (villan) 12 years ago; and several other things that, in the end were left unanswered.
The flirting / no we’re not flirting between the SL’s was adorable. I’m chuckling as I write this. They were cute.
Oh man! Go Eun Seon! What can you say?!?! Such a great guy, but on the wrong side of that love triangle. He and Yeo Reum did have great ‘friend’ chemistry, though.
Except for Passenger Services TL Yang and Security TL Choi, the remaining Team Leads gave us little to like. My lower rating is due to this: this wasn’t dominant RomCom. It had a serious message with some light hearted moments. But, it was overdone and unrealistic to have those terribly unprofessional, obnoxious managers in the GM’s department of a world class airport. I wasn’t impressed with the scripting around these side characters.
I agree with most people, not seeing Yeo Reum’s face at the end was to insult the viewers. We were cheated out of that final emotional payoff we were all waiting for, seeing SY’s as tearfully happy to be in YR’s arms as she was in his. I did look it up - while there was considerable buzz in K-Entertainment news and Social Media over it, there was actually no explanation given as to why they never showed his face - and it documented that it was LJH in that scene, not a body double. Nevertheless, IMO it was a mistake not to show his face.
I still highly recommend this drama. The OST was also very nice.
