ml stacked his merits to get the emperors edict coz he knew fl wasnt gonna marry him ever otherwise and no one on any side would agree to this. she was on the verge of getting married to a neighbour dude. but emperors order can override everything so thats what he used. not only did he forcibly marry her but he also drugged her with sleeping pills in today's ep to take her to the capital irrespective of what she wanted.

its ok, to each their own. i reached upto ep29 of against the current and it was really great until like 2 days ago but imo, not anymore. realism is only on the fl side with the womens struggles, not the rest. and ml started behaving towards her like another one of those entitled wattpad ml's who gets some kinda redemption arc later through suffering and fl falls for him coz narrative gives her no other choice. i do hope it gets better again, it'd be a shame otherwise.
