In fairness - this series is very good and should not be down voted like this. May I ask to those who are liking…
Idk what you are talking about, Overdo wrapped in Sept'25 after filming for 3 months. PoJ only aired this year in March. Both took roughly similar amount of time to air with only mayb a months difference.
Guys, I need your opinion. Should I watch Overdo or just skip it?To be honest, I'm usually not into Republic-era…
If you are here after Archives: The Nanyang Mystery then I'd say skip because it'd look really bad. I'm the same as you and I like many of those. It's one thing if people don't have any points of comparison or only watched cringe dogblood republican romance but another thing if they are used to watching dramas like the ones you mentioned.
But If you really wanna try it for Zhang Linghe then you could try watching a couple episodes and see for yourself. Who knows, you might unexpectedly enjoy it.
That's great. Thank God people protested. IQIYI was taking away short drama actors jobs by mass producing AI generated micro dramas. They thought they could get away with it for long dramas as well by introducing it bit by bit using famous traffic stars as cushion 😑
What's with all these embezzlement, memes I have been seeing in twitter. Is the production quality that low. C-nets…
They allocated 82% of 264M yuan budget into actor salaries and promotions, and only 18% for everything else. that's why. Basically overhyped and reliant on super popular traffic stars face cards and fanbases. The drama looks significantly worse than the actual reuters and gives South Asian soap opera vibes in terms of everything- from characters, scenes, dialogues, fake looking backgrounds, sets, lighting, parody like cgi and tropey writing. That's why the memes and trolls.
Free him from the historical romance genre and get him more roles like Zhang Haixia and more dramas like Southern Archives PLEEEAAASEE🙏I'm off to watch White Cat Legend and see him play the cat he is 🤭☺️🤏 He's so oddly cute it's unbelievable, how is he so cute aggression inducing omg😩😠
Y'ALL CAN SOMEONE REMIND ME OF WHAT HAPPENED IN REPUBLICAN ERA IN DMBJ??I HAVE THEORY BUT I NEED MORE INFO ‼️‼️SPOILERS…
I haven't read the books but it sounds plausible. Haiqi is a practical person above all and she surely knows what each of her boys are like and who has the strength and potential to do what. Hailou had a weakness and until the most problematic weakness was gone, she didn't give him anything, no information, no tattoo, no responsibility etc. But when she did, it was similar in type and progression to the other heads, including yang blood, unlike haixia's yin.
Hailou's recklessness wasn't of the systematic threat type, and it got fixed eventually,,,or more like it morphed into unpredictability. But Haixia was just built different, he was too smart and too reliable from a very young age. These 2 had their own type of dangers they brought to the table, while Hailou's was the destructive type, Haixia's was the dismantling type. If Hailou brought madness, Haixia brought shrewdness. In the long run people like Haixia will always be considered the bigger threat bc over the years he'd only continue getting sharper and more mature. It's a steep upward curve and he might’ve ended up unstoppable if he decided sth against the main opinion someday. People like Haixia are always the ones who can significantly affect and alter timelines and change the natural progression of certain things in both good and bad ways. Haixia was kind, so he'd likely remain good but even good changes can massively affect many things down the line since sometimes the bad is necessary for certain futures to appear. Plus his good might not mean the overall family's idea of good.
Also, if he were alive and these 2 stayed together as before, they'd remain inseparable and their single unit factor would've only gotten stronger with time, not less i.e, Hailou's unpredictability and destructive potential that's tempered by his loyalty and loss, might have also ended up skewing heavily towards Haixia instead of the patriarch if a conflicting situation or opinions arose. It'd change Hailou's future trajectory too. Because Hailou alone is one thing, but a Hailou with Haixia is another thing entirely.
It's very likely their loyalty would remain towards each other first and foremost. They would be buffing each other to the moon and continue covering for the other, consciously or subconsciously solidifying the "us against the world" mindset. Earlier they were young, idealistic and still somewhat innocent, so their respective dangers, weaknesses and codependency wasn't AS much an issue coz they still lacked so many kinds of experience and could be kept in line. But the more time passed and the more they got fine tuned, it might have changed the future in a completely unpredictable ways.....Gotta say I'd rather see that future instead😭😭
OOO GOD i still can't move on from these two😭😭They are just heartbreakingly beautiful and criminally underrated🥹💕Anyways…
Go to Archives of Our Own i.e, ao3 and search for this drama. You can find fanfics there. Honestly I feel like picking up the pen too bc we are truly lacking in numbers and contents. This fandom needs way more good attention😭😭😭😭
It's great. Wait until at least ep3 to know if you want to continue. The first two are very different from the…
It already picked up and been flying ✈️ since ep1 but went to a different country after ep3 and then another one after ep11. We visit 2 more countries after that and I don't like the last one 🥲
