came for JBR and wasn’t disappointed. what an actor. the plot is very engaging but the pace and vibes change starting ep 8. I was taken since the first ep, didn’t know where the show was going, I really loved that in the end we don’t even know for sure what’s the real truth, I kept thinking and rethinking after finishing the show. but I have to say I also felt the ending a bit rushed so it’s a 9.5/10 for me.

I am 9 eps in and I now remember why I usually wait for a show to be completely released before starting. because I am now hooked and impatient for what’s next. first ep made me hesitating to continue but I am now addicted. the aesthetics of the old era are stunning. and YES I am staying for the absolutely ridiculously INSANE CHEMISTRY. don’t come at me for that but this is everything I wished I could see in the early spring that I didn’t have: both leads equally strong and given same directions for acting, despite the power inbalance of the characters. this is absolutely well done so far and I can’t wait for the next eps

finally someone who writes a review considering nuances and context and that it’s a fiction and that we can see different things than IRL. loved your review, I was a less taken by the FL but I totally get how you explained her perspective. I was starting to think I was mad for liking the ML because many were calling out toxic traits, manipulation, gaslighting and so on and I was really wondering if I was that blind. but you explained in words what I felt for the ML character build up, with layers and complexity. thank you for that
