Can’t believe I only have one more episode to go as much as I have been dragging this BL out to not say goodbye to this story too soon.
Loved all the subliminal politics about care, who does it and how; how individualism takes a back seat to collective solidarity; the demonstration of violence in pursuit of justice but not making it the only necessity in pursuit of reparative justice; the focus on true fathering (that’s not differentiated from mothering) that doesn’t rely on surrogacy or any other mode of female exploitation in at least 6 different scenarios.
All this and they’re still managing to go out with the tension still high, the stakes progressively elevated for the finale and we’re all massively invested in the outcome.
Well done writer, director cast and crew!
PS: The capitalists are the ruiners but collective solidarity among the oppressed without respect to identity or nation is how everyone has a chance to overcome - much like today.
Uhhh if you're asking if the drama is centered around romance, then the answer is no
I just started it a couple of months ago and have two more precious episodes left so I’m stretching it out.
Empress Ki I also watched in 2019 and at least once every year since and also adore Prisoner of Beauty although I never binge anything no matter what I’m consuming. I like to absorb it at a leisurely pace so I can really digest and think and discuss critically with other drama lovers, not watch just to finish something

There is some romance but mostly its love that's being demonstrated between the male leads. So more substantive rather than superficial manifestations.
But that said there are plenty of goofy and funny intimate scenes of affection between them as well but this is woven onto their action-packed lives full of dangers, intrigues and life goals.
I hope by now you've given it a try and seen for yourself what a fulfilling BL drama it is
Sad to see this page used as yet another opportunity for the most propagandised people on Earth to rush here and start complaining about propaganda because they don’t know world history or how the world works compared with the vast majority of the globe. Ludicrous as well as sad.
Don’t let this dissuade you from watching a very fine drama. It’s also available on YT with 21 episodes on the playlist so far for those who’re interested in understanding this period more
Guys it is getting sweeter and sweeter I will promote this one
This is exactly the term I would use to describe it because it’s perfectly fitting.
I just watched the episode last night where we saw the first flashbacks of how the second couple met and fell in love with each other and I’m literally in a puddle 🫠🫠🫠 it’s so sweet Omg.
The most propagandised people on the planet here to complain and demand the Hollywood version about history that was censored from them in their very text books.
Dude, you keep spamming this garbage about the movie being CCP propaganda and somehow causing the Jiangyou protests,…

Definitely. And for the most part I feel they marketed it wrong and the title was misleading!Thank you for reading…
I didn’t even care about the marketing as long as what actually unfolded was compelling; it was not.
Cheng Lei was magnificent in My Journey to You because that production benefitted from the elements LOTFG lacked - a sharp screenplay and inspired Direction,
Middling ratings from CDramas on MDL is usually a sure guarantee it’s worth watching 👍🏼
Kudos to the entire cast and crew for this fine work of art ❤
