As an outsider coming back here and X every week to see everyone’s reaction on this show is the most entertaining thing ever. I’m sorry and thank you for keeping up with this on everyone else’s behalf
This is a good thriller, period. A few things should be later explained by the director or writer but the main reviews are too harsh on the show. Netflix standards, this is actually a very entertaining watch compare to everything they've been doing lately
Spoiler EP 32: The FL blaming him for the death of her brother didn’t make sense to me. He left her a letter explaining why he took that decision , nobody would’ve been able to stop him. Putting that responsibility in someone who her brother treated like a slave is insane. The ML suffered more than the lady who sent him to die
"interesting plot" and most of these popular romance cdramas are just super generic and tropey lmfao.…
I don’t mind tropey if is done right and the leads have chemistry; something that’s hard to find now in kdramas that tend to fall midways (Dynamite Kiss). As for Love between lines the fantasy plot is pretty cool, and the CGI is amazing.
Those are just romcoms, nothing crazy needs to happen to be good, but if you’re not into those tropes there are more cdramas like Twelve Letters or Man's Inhumanity to Man
None of them got me hooked or very interested. I’ll watch No Tail to Tell on Netflix once it finishes airing because I like Kim Hye Yoon, I’m hoping things get better once the romance starts but so far I see they have more chemistry off the show (promotions) than on the show? That’s so rare, but maybe it needs time to marinate
On the other hand Chinese Dramas started very strong: Love Between Lines, Shine on me, Speed and Love, My page in the 90s, Affinity, all have such an interesting plot and leads chemistry
Honestly I don’t get why the flaw in FL’s character is a put off for you. There’s obviously going to be…
Her character lacking morality is not new for this type of dramas, I was just annoyed when she kept helping bad people in exchange of money - which caused someone to die. Normally, I would want to see this type of character feeling guilty or rage. I probably connected the most when I saw how lonely she was.
Regarding the ML - his reaction was so random lol but I think that’s an editing problem, maybe they would show throwbacks later on from his perspective
The writers have stated the main story begins from episode 3, so the things shown in ep 1 and 2 is more of a background…
That’s an interesting way to look at it. I though her friend died due to her husband's rich family, but let’s wait and see how thats explained later on.
The ML didn’t have an impact on me just yet, I just felt pity for him the entire time but I understand where you’re coming from and I do believe they have a lot to learn from each other.
About the whole empathy thing, it’s very confusing because she’s a gumiho but she can feel all human emotions, I guess after so many years it truly lacks impact. Idk, I need to watch more episodes to like her character.
The first two episodes disappointed me badly because I love the actress and she deserve to be the center in this story but I hope the writers get better in the upcoming episodes.
- The ML was reduced to be a petty boy who got taken away his opportunities, has no parents and no real friends. We need to see more of his personality than just a guy I should feel sympathy for. I’m hoping they interact more in the upcoming episodes
- The FL moral compass is so flawed you can’t helped but be annoyed about her logic; your friend was killed by powerful people and now you’re helping the same type of people get their way? A guy d*ed and you only think about yourself? No pitty for his family or something? She’s a “sly bratty creature”, I get it but you cannot make a character lack so much empathy so soon. Before you show me her flaws I need to root for her as well
I’ll continue watching, I think next couple episodes look more fun but I honestly think the target demographic for this drama are probably young adults, and kids. The drama doesn’t take itself very seriously and the comedy is the standpoint
I loved his acting in Speed of Love! I wish him the best in future projects. His agency should do a better job and sue hate comments, so many weird accounts circulating rumors, my only guess is that he’s getting eyed by many good projects now. I hope he does well!
After watching episode 30 I realized that NXG is really sometimes out of touch of the real world. All she think…
ZX is not a bad person but learning to let go is also an act of love, after knowing she got with someone else he never fully accepted that and it felt like he was waiting for her to comeback to him at any giving moment. He found so many excuses after knowing he had a boyfriend, “why are you looking at me like that at the wedding”, “were you really dating him in NYE”; “my number is still the same” literally waiting for her text but he never sent one. He wanted her to wait for him to be successful, and comeback to him but if he was honest he would’ve told her about his feelings for the very beginning, she would have waited for him but the miscommunication and switching blame was too much. She said it herself “was I supposed to crawl back?” specially after being rejected, it’s just too much.
When they were in college he never set boundaries with his childhood friend and didn’t reject her either, just kept her around because it was convenient. Rong helped his younger brother and mother many times, he should have stop her, but he ignored it too. She probably felt he took advantage of her feelings too. They were all immature but he needs to grow and take responsibility to be free of his guilt
I can’t believe tomorrow is ending. I love the closure in EP 30, finally my girl knows what she wants and is standing up against everyone, I can tell she’s more confident now. I’m sad to see the finale tomorrow, this is the only winter drama that caught my attention this year.
