i was cracking up so bad, especially in the last chapter when they had the banquet where the monks were there too and this time the evil spirit was fully consuming XL, ig that was like a clue MXTX gave us that XL and HC got intimate, that's why compared to last time, this time the evil spirit was fully consuming him inside and out.

Oh my god, i have really forgotten how HC managed to get his hands on the other coral pearl earring of XL. Uh i don't remember when HC gave the ring to XL😅but in the donghua, it was shown that right after San Lang left, promising XL that the next time they meet, XL would see HC in his real form, the next morning when XL woke up, he found himself wearing a chain around his neck. San Lang must have secretly put it around his neck when he was sleeping. Now i dont remember if this was how HC gave XL the chain in the novel too. but this was what happened in the donghua.

There's a rough sketch about HC's past life with him being born under an unlucky star as i said but there's not much of details on it. Regarding why Mu Qing kicked HC out of the army, i'm super lazy to type cuz i have typed too much today lol so i'm giving you a link, read it. https://beneaththebrim.tumblr.com/post/618778328248287232/why-does-mu-qing-hate-hua-cheng

HC's past story before the God Pleasing dance was there in some bits and pieces through out right. There were a few lines here and there about how he was born under an unlucky star and all and then the thing with his eye. HC dissipated to recuperate for some time because he had over exhausted himself. It was like a resting period for him where he gained back all his energy. Obviously nothing happened to his soul, it was still intact cuz his ashes were safe. Just that his physical form dissipated because of the over exhaustion by lending his spiritual energy. Wait i just read some where that Qi rong came back too in a similar way like HC did...............Did that happen in the extras? I don't remember..............

lol i'm lazy to type a lot so i'm gonna copy paste this beautiful explanation-
'JW and XL had sort of the same fate at the beginning. Both the darling of the heavens. But when their heavenly calamities came they both had different approaches. JW took a different and horrid path while XL lived up to that line. That no matter how dreadful any situation may be, one must not waver on their beliefs of what's right. Considering that JW and XL were both taught by the same person. They both grew up with the same beliefs and morals. XL lived up to that line to which JW didn't. Let's just say JW is (maybe) jealous that XL is able to maintain his purity despite all the struggles which he wasn't able to do.'
