XL's emotional status during that time should be so unstable, i can't even think of it. First of all, Xianle's fall was such a huge blow to him. He was literally known as Heaven's darling and yet even after trying to save Xianle, things got even worse. Then he got banished from heaven. Then he was humiliated by those 33 gods, Mu Qing was there in it too. The humiliation triggered his emotions. Things got worse with Bai Wuxiang's taunting. No one believed him when he told his parents that Bai Wuxiang had returned. Then came the temple scene where the people stabbed him just because they got influenced by BWX. Can you imagine, the pain XL had to go through, my boi's been through so much. The common people stabbed him like that, his hatred was in a way justified ig. After that stabbing, he lost control of his emotions. On top of that XL had to see his parents' dead bodies, they had hung themselves with a silk bandage, XL literally tried to kill himself too that way. While XL was suffering like this, outside the window people were celebrating the rise of new Yong'an. Seeing that he got consumed by grief and pain and lost it completely and decided to avenge Xianle. All the anger, frustration pent up within him just burst. On top of that BWX kept taunting him repeatedly. As you know one of BXW's most coveted specialty was to lure people into being consumed by grief and hatred and influence them. So before XL went all out he decided to test the people one last time by stabbing himself and lying on the streets. However no one came to save him, he was getting even more angry. However the moment he got up to release the resentful spirits, the farmer who had cursed at him, the same farmer held his hat over XL to cover him from the rain, pulled him up and asked him to go back home. This simple and small act of kindness completely changed XL's mood and he woke up from his 'revenge stupor'. This really is a perfect example of how lil things in life can have such a significant impact on someone. Omg i talked so much, sorry for the rant, but my boi Xie Lian has suffered a lot.

Hmmm it was mentioned during that convo with XL's Guoshi right...HC sacrificed his eye to create E-ming to protect some people from what i remember. But he chose not to stay in heaven and jumped back down and emerged as a Supreme in Mount Tonglu. Oh my god yas you have caught on. The 'something' i mentioned that made me cry is very much related to HC giving XL his spiritual power through out the entire novel.

The only reason behind why he's so powerful is because he's a ghost king ig. I don't remember any other very much of a detailed explanation. Not to mention he has garnered his name as one of the most formidable ghost kings out of the four calamities. But don't worry, he's not so OP. At the end he does something to recuperate too.
