Holy! This is sooo well said. Except that JP will be the end game. NDS is the end game, sadly.
Awww thank you! If you enjoy my comments and you've watched "Come and Hug Me" i wrote an article regarding its visual mastery here in MDL. ;)

I'm liking this show so much, i may end up writing an article for it if I get the chance. Though we shall see since i still need to write the last part of Analyzing Tags in Romance K-Drama.

Perhaps so they can catch everyone by surprise? Though this is all based on only the drama, as i never watch interviews or promotional materials haha.

However, i believe it was the same for Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter. I always knew who the ML was on that one because i only focused on the drama and not all the fanfare of promotional material.

Nice take, I agree with this 100%
I'm glad you do! Regardless of what happens, I'm still enjoying how complexed and flaws the characters have been written. Especially considering MLs are usually written too perfect, with few to no flaws (which frustrates me to no end!).

I really hope you're right. Whether Ji Pyung is the endgame will really make or break the drama. I think the reason…
I haven't gotten the feeling, even for a single episode, that the end game is Do San. Something in the writing has always pointed that HJP is actually the end game. Some visual cues also suggest that. Like I've said to others, I'd be VERY surprised if it doesn't pan out how I imagined. Not to mention that the message of rewarding someone who isn't just dishonest to someone else, but who is also dishonest with himself, would really be problematic.

Except, I'm also following typical Kdrama story trends with my theory, so that's up for debate. Last week I compared this show's love triangle setup to "She was Pretty" and "Mama Fairy & the Woodcutter". So I'd say HJP isn't out of the race yet. ;)

wow this was really well written. you brought up a lot of good points. i am rooting for ji pyeong as do san's…
I think the problem is that Do San isn't yet being fully honest. He gave a step in the right direction by choosing NOT to wear the suit. Yet, he undid that by turning to Alex towards the end just so HJP doesn't get involved with his company. Even worst, he's now assuming they'll fail and that's why he's setting his own plan B in place. But Do San has always been "reactive" rather than active. He's always reacted to things others did, whereas it's not quite the same with HJP. Even less so now that we'll start to see some of his own story (regarding the guy who died).

I'm seriously going to be quite surprised if HJP isn't the end game because everything (visual cues, writing, themes, etc.) is pointing towards that.

Praying to all the gods that you are right!
I'm seriously going to be so surprised if this doesn't panned out. I feel all of these clues in the writing are too well-thought out to be coincidental.

Full marks to your analysis! Love it! I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm keeping my hopes in check but…
I think he's the end game precisely because he hasn't been given his chance to truly and openly pursue Dal-Mi until now. So my bet is that, ultimately, Dal Mi would be the one to make the choice. And until now, only HJP has given her room to make a choice while NDS has yet to give a step back and let her breathe.

Also of note, NDS went against his initial wish and decided to get Alex's help not because he's ambitious... but just to put an obstacle on HJP's path, which shows hostility. Whereas HJP (in ML fashion) has simply opened up to NDS about his feelings towards Dal Mi, but in a more gentlemanly and mature way.

We'll have to wait and see how the story unfold, but I would be EXTREMELY surprised if HJP isn't the end game. Otherwise, the drama would be giving a problematic message (not that K-Dramas haven't done that before), just that here the subtext is telling me HJP is being set up to steal the limelight towards the end of the drama.

Question: can anyone think of a Kdrama where the FL kisses the second lead? I can’t think of one which makes…
Wok of Love
Born Again
Do You like Brahams (2FL kisses the ML)
Feel Good to Die (if I recall correctly)
Live

Oh, wow, a LOT of things happened in this episode that was really interesting. So here's my analysis this time (for anyone who's interested):

Yesterday, I briefly covered how similar (in kind of opposite ways) NDS and HJP are. This episode continued to mirror them in an oposite kind of way. So what do I mean?

>> Nam Do San <<
So the way I see it, NDS is outwardly a selfless guy but inwardly a selfish guy. While he's always trying to accomodate other people and fill in the role others need him to be, when it comes to Dal-Mi he turned out to be quite selfish. Right now, it became clear to me that NDS wants Dal Mi and let's just say that loving and wanting are two different things. Wanting is about what you get. It's about possessing more than wishing someone well.

This point was introduced during his interactions with Dal Mi. It was clear that Dal Mi needed time to process not only what happened, but her feelings as well. Yet, NDS hardly gave her any space, because he wants her to be okay. But in his need to "help" her, he's disregarding her need to figure out things on her own. Perhaps the BIGGEST aggrivience was when he evesdropped on her private conversation while they were in the bar. Yet, that same scene still hits home the fact that he may not be the end game. Since he is, once again, getting a handicap in figuring out Dal Mi's feelings.

Which brings me to...

>> Han Ji Pyung <<
Like with the previous episode, we hardly got to see him this time around. But the few scenes he was in, really left something clear. HJP may be outwardly selfish, but he's inwardly a selfless guy. While he may push and disregard people left and right when it comes to Dal-Mi he really just wants her to be happy, even if that happiness doesn't include him. In that regard, he's selfless and loving. Because Love is about giving, even if you get nothing in return.

Notice how he kept his distance from Dal Mi despite being just as worried about her as Do San. Rather than follow her around and force his presence on her, he kept calling Grandma to check up on her. The one time he actually followed her was to have a heart to heart conversation, wherein he laid out all his cards but emphasized that it was her call. That she got to decide what she wanted to do with the heart he was laying at her table.

The few moments he had with her, short as they were, were powerful because it showed he considered her feelings more than his own. The epilogue gave another hint regarding why he might be the end game and that is... mirroring. This time we see him interacting with the same random girl that Dal Mi had poured her problems to. Not only that, but when he starts to regret telling Dal Mi he likes her, the woman leaves him with words we've heard before... "trust your choice".

If that was not enough, we got to see this episode how HJP gave NDS even more of a handicap by assuring Dal Mi that his feelings were genuine. Whereas, NDS has done whatever it takes to keep Dal Mi from thinking about HJP. It goes to show that NDS is not confident in Dal Mi's feelings towards him. While HJP just wants her to be happy.

We'll see how things pan out next week. I knew Kim Yong San would be the one to "seek revenge" because he was acting a bit shady since a while back. But I'm surprised that his two friends have never mentioned his brother. I'm thinking Han Ji Pyung might end up being pushed to the limit with guilt and that's where Dal Mi will step in to provide support or comfort. After all, when he asked if she would be there when he needed her, she'd said without a doubt. So I think that scene was a buildup for what's to come.

IMO, it is better to not look for the actor or actress’s age, because it can ruin the experience. After knowing…
Thanks for reading, while I agree, for Goblim even though i didn't look up their age, the visual of her character with her school uniform pursuing a grown man was enough to make me uncomfortable. Had they met when she was already out of school, i don't think i would have had such a problem.

I dropped Alice, but this one (although it has flaws) is overall quite intetesting. It's more similar to Signal than to Alice.

Did you watch the preview for the next episode, what are your thoughts on it? As for grandma, i understand were…
Interesting, i didn't see the preview for next episode, but we will see how it unfolds. I still stand behind my theory, since otherwise the lie should've been dealt with way before in order for NDS and SDM to really start afresh with all the cards on the table.

I do think NDS will try to rebuild the broken trust with Dal Mi. And i don't doubt Dal Mi doesn't feel attached to Do San. But i have my reservations on whether her feelings will ultimately end up remaining romantic. So far, i feel she will end up as friends with Do San. More so once she finds out Ji Pyung's bond with her grandmother (and the fact that Dal Mi might be Ji Pyung's only friend as well).

I don't think anyone needs to feel shame for critiquing a FICTIONAL character. However, I do think it's horrible…
Agree 100%. It's not the actor's fault how the characters are written.
