I still think HJP is the end game precisely because kdrama formulas would dictate he be the ML. And I feel this…
Indeed, and even more, we get several different female characters --all ambitious, independent and interesting in their own unique way. That alone makes this show stand out, which is both sad yet surprisingly true.
I think part of the reason so many of have SLS with this one is not only Kim Seon Ho being awesome but because…
I still think HJP is the end game precisely because kdrama formulas would dictate he be the ML. And I feel this episode (7) cemented that even further, especially the post-credit scene.
I like all characters, though. So either way, this is currently my favorite drama. And Dal-Mi and her grandmother are hands down my favorite characters and the ones i look forward to watching the most.
This is starting to get extremely messed up. Idk why but I really don't like Dal Mi. Also, I really hate the 2…
I am the opposite when it comes to Dal-Mi, i really like her. She and her grandma are the characters i look forward to watching the most. I think the end game with her will be to basically finish what her father started and, part of that process will involve truly reuniting with her sister.
As to HJP, i agree. I still feel he might be the end game fot Dal-Mi with Do San becoming a trusted friend and work partner. But we shall see. If the three leads end up as friends instead of a love triangle, i would still be quite satisfied.
No chance. Dal Mi and Do San are bound to grow together as lovers and successful persons.
We shall see. Needless to say, romance aside, this is shaping out to be a great show with more than one female character stepping into the stage. That alone makes me excited!
Unpopular opinion here... I really liked the last episode. I’m now having high hopes on how this will end. That…
I agree, i actually like the direction they took since last week's episode. I think the healthiest decision is to find happiness by themselves first and then, if they get back together, they can add to that happiness. That way the happiness of each other doesn't become a burden to maintain.
I'm having such an intellectual-gasm right now. This article is terrific! Oh my gosh I love it, and it brings…
Thank you for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed the articles and it provided some food for thought. I agree with you that oftentimes I find a economically middle-class Male Lead more interesting than a Rich or a Poor one. Perhaps because a "Rich ML" usually comes hand in hand with a "Poor Female Lead" (or one who is introduced in a crisis) so the balance of power in those scenarios is usually quite skewed in favor of the ML. And as someone who values Female Empowerment, that just takes away from my enjoyment altogether.
At this point, I'm certain that the secretary is KHR's son. I always wondered why her right-hand man was so young.…
Yes, I had been getting the sense that he was her child, though I believed him to be an illegitimate child. So I thought she would want to kill her other son so her illegitimate son/secretary could inherit the company.
Of course, now things make more sense. Since Gi Beom wasn't in fact her blood child, then it stands to reason she needed to get rid of not only him but also his offspring so she can keep the company.
As someone who always looks at the tags when choosing what to watch, I really enjoyed this article series. Looking…
Thank you for reading, I'm happy you're enjoying the series and that you decided to join the conversation!
Yes, the taboo of adoptions came as a surprise to me as well. Though the amount of women that end up having to choose to abandoned their children seems to be often represented in K-Dramas.
Regarding the Lonely Male Lead tag idea, it's funny but someone created one for the Female Lead, which I find interesting as I feel often FL are given some kind of support (being friends or family). Of course, it only has two dramas tagged: It's Okay not to be Okay and Angel's Last Mission: Love.
I tend to avoid dramas with a "Toxic Relationship" tag (if it refers to the leads) and the "weak FL/ML" tags as well. The "Mean ML" is also something that I wouldn't want to sit through. But the tags that will really push me to watch a drama are "Strong Female Lead" and, even better, "Strong Female Characters" (as in plural!). Full disclosure, I created that last tag because a Strong Female Lead is not enough for me if she's surrounded by only male characters with perhaps only an evil 2FL. I want to watch more female characters, even better if there's "Sismance" involved. That way even if the FL isn't perfect, it doesn't feel like we need to swallow a bitter pill because we get to see other cool female characters.
I believe tags marked as spoilers are still accessible if you click on "tags" to display them all (which now a days could mean you'll need to go through 60+ tags, depending of how popular the drama was and how tag-happy the viewers were). Also using the search function, you can still filter through all tags, even if some of them are marked as spoilers in the dramas shown.
You did a quite impressive job there. Congratulations!
Thank you for reading and the compliment, i am glad you liked it :). It was quite a lot of work, but now i just need to write the last one to finally finish this enterprise!
