Top-Tier Red Flags

I’ve seen my fair share of FLs, dumb ones, naive ones, even genius-level ones, but this one? Top 3 most evil and unapologetically red flag I’ve ever come across. She’s in a league of her own.

The ML? Certified trash. No debate there, we all know it, we all accept it. And don’t even get me started on the second ML, dude’s even worse, a walking dumpster fire. Irrelevant.

At first, I really thought she was gearing up for some classy, next-level revenge. But nah. Turns out she’s just self-obsessed and manipulative to the bone. There’s a fine line between being strong and being straight-up villainous and she steamrolled past it with no brakes.

Now, the ML... yeah, he was absolute garbage for like 95% of the story. But those last 10 minutes? Plot twist, he’d been waiting for her all along. Doesn't redeem him completely, but at least there's a sliver of depth there.

One thing they did nail though? The chemistry. The tension. The heat. Hot and spicy, no notes. And making the SML impotent? Savage move. Gotta respect that level of storytelling pettiness.

It's not for the weak hearted

One thing about this drama, it keeps the emotions so genuine. The characters stay consistent, nothing feels overproduced or fake. Aside from DaJiao, everyone could honestly be people we run into in daily life, maybe even little reflections of people we already know. He’s the only one who feels like a “dreamy male lead,” the kind you can tell was written by a woman. And honestly, that contrast is what keeps you hooked, reality everywhere, and then him.

He’s not the typical conventionally handsome type, at least not by Asian beauty standards. But the more you see his actions, his way of treating people, his quiet strength, you just can’t help but fall for him. His kindness and maturity almost feel overwhelming at times, like he’s too good to be true.

Green Flag ALERT

"You are my kingdom"
I would be okay with reborning if i could met with such a green flag ML as well. I couldn't catch the part if he was in love with her in the past life or just royal to her. I hated the king so much that he must have played well. Stepmother plot felt bubbly, she won everyones heart even the skeptical sister-in-law.

Very kinky very booktok vibes... but honestly not bad at all

At first, I was like, “What in the Wattpad 2015 is this?” But then, the plot hit me. They really packed a whole hot, rich, smart, scheming, and dangerously seductive FL with a cold yet kind and fiercely protective ML, all in just 20 episodes.
And honestly, I get why everyone fell for FL. She wasn’t just pretty, she had that irresistible aura that had me blushing the whole time. ML, on the other hand, was straight out of a manhwa, visuals on point, but that rare submissive look? Priceless.
I did appreciate seeing FL’s character growth towards the end. But of course, we couldn’t escape the classic Chinese Republican Era drama clichés. The story itself wasn’t groundbreaking, but the leads’ acting carried the whole thing.

Then came the ending… and let me tell you, I needed four hours just to process whatever that was. 20 episodes of character development, for what? They really had me invested just to pull that? Disappointed to hell.

It's going to be loooong review(hopefully i will update every few episodes)

Day 1 of watching the series:
I have been waiting for this drama since they put it here like few years ago(or i felt like this). I'm very glad that they didn't made the ML thinking he is gay plot (it happens in every other female general drama). I also liked the FL very active but felt that we haven't seen her break down yet. I needed some more emotions in those betrayal moments ngl. The only shocking thing is ML can feel something is off with her they way she handles the horse but doesn't feel that the general literally changed that he known for ages.
Day 2 :
He Yan is so adorable when she's drunk, and the way ML gazes at her is just the cutest. I've also begun to appreciate how FL expresses herself and embraces her feelings. Considering her past, it all makes sense.
Day 3 :
I'm already starting to feel a bit sad about it coming to an end. Just 23 episodes to go, and I can't wait to watch them uncover the truth and live happily. Zhou Ye is honestly one of the most beautiful and handsome women I've ever seen. Plus, those fight moves are pretty awesome, even if they look a bit strange, like they're fighting in zero gravity.
Day idk what:
I can't forget He Yan in her red armor outfit it haunts me that she's looking so good. Also two MC's finally starting to know who is the other and feel sympathy. She's on her way to becoming a general and cutting that twink into pieces. I need to see the Dudu's smile/smirk it's been 2?4 episodes since I've seen that.
Last Day:
Can't believe I finished this emotional package. Also very circus looking moves while fighting but at least their face cards never declines. It feels like we can feel the heavy plot armor, the villains die or banish so quickly last 5 episodes and mc's get their way with every move. I liked the fast phase but I would have preferred more emotion from both mc's. Surely they look heavenly good and little smirk exchanges from both takes our breath away but crying few minutes for the last ones felt surreal.

Such a passionate couple

Their love story wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, fr. But somehow, in just January, they gave us the visual couple of 2025—crazy. Some parts had me rolling my eyes, some were alright, but overall? A tasty little treat for the eyes, and the passion was undeniable. BBK played her role too well—like, I hated her character half the time just because she nailed that spoiled little brat energy so hard. On the other hand, WYT completely stole my heart with her General character. She was a badass but also smart, kind-hearted, and just nice. I could easily watch another 30 episodes just following her own love story. Now, LZZ and LFY? Their story was just sad af. Like, get your own wife, not someone else’s, king. That whole situation was messy. HJY and HWS—the twin twinkles—were just kinda there? They served, but they definitely didn’t eat. And then there’s Xuen Lie… His love is gonna be remembered forever. We love a man who's only soft for his FL, especially when he’s got those visuals. As for Qi Luo, she had the vibes, but why did no one bat an eye when she changed genders yet kept the same face, same everything? That’s gonna stay a mystery forever.

Goofy af ... LOVE IT

I legit almost died laughing. At first, it felt like your typical cliché setup, but the second she busted out that snake-walking move? Game over. Everything became 10x funnier the moment she started serving us secondhand embarrassment like a full-on Chuunibyou, and the way the ML just stares at her with pure pity.

As a short, dumb drama, I absolutely loved it. Yeah, the CGI is trash, and the subs are soo shitty shity make no sense, but hear me out the FL and ML are too compatible. Also, I still can't wrap my head around their 10-year age gap. Like, what kind of 32-step skincare routine is she on? Insane. No one else could’ve played a snake demon like her, she’s got the moves of an elastic man. And don’t even get me started on that bald-cap Buddhist with the triple-sized head, or her as a egg cracked me up.

Another short revenge chinese drama

What kept me watching instead of dropping it was that the FML actually had a strong grip on the situation. She didn’t waste time whining, "Oh no, I can’t do this because I fell for the ML," or abandon her revenge plans. Meanwhile, the ML was ridiculously stupid—but maybe that’s what made her(FML) look so smart in comparison? It was basically one cliché stacked on top of another. I really had high hopes after the first few episodes, but in the end, it turned out to be mid AF.

Matches made in Heaven

This drama really nailed telling six unique love stories, each one as different and special as the girls themselves. Every groom brought his own mix of joy and heartbreak, making the journey even more gripping. I still can't believe they stretched it into 36 episodes without losing steam! Sure, there were some weird time skips that left us scratching our heads, but they managed to patch things up pretty well. Every couple faced their share of struggles before tasting the sweetness of love. Some got lost along the way, some felt like giving up, but in the end, they all found their perfect match.

Now, I gotta say, the emperor? Yeah, Joseph Zeng owned the screen, no doubt, but his character just didn’t hit right half the time. Felt like he was there for vibes more than sense. But props to the drama for one thing, they nailed splitting the spotlight among the five main characters. It felt like flipping through a book, with each couple getting their own chapter. We saw how they fell for each other, how their relationships grew, and how they battled through all the mess to get that happy ending.

I'm about to die from sugar rush

This drama was one of the cutest and sweetest I’ve ever watched. Pure green flag energy, like a whole green forest of wholesomeness.
He Su Ye might just be one of the most emotionally mature MLs I’ve seen. Easily top 3. This man isn’t just a green flag; he’s an entire damn rainforest.
I actually really liked Shen Xi Fan too. Yeah, she had her childish moments, but it made sense, she’s younger than the ML and grew up super sheltered.
The last few episodes flowed so smoothly that before I knew it, I had finished the whole series. No regrets.

Cutesy Patootsie

One of the cutest and most normal chinese short drama i've watched. Doesn't have weird plot and characters are down to earth. The story is very real, as well as the characters and their lives. The father-daugher fight seemed too real. For 12 episodes its very well written. I liked that didn't bother with the triangle love plot, it would have killed the story.

They ate it up

Waited a whole year and thank God they didn’t disappoint!
Mu Dan is more badass than ever, and Chang Yang still has that devilish charm. I almost loved it, but a few things bugged me.
First off, why is the emperor so powerless? It felt off and honestly too fake. And Mr. Trash Bag keeps forcing her like he forgot all the garbage he pulled before. It wasn’t even evil, just pathetic. Even worse? Ms. Trash Bag Enjoyer saying that if the FL was gone, then he’d look at her. Girl, seriously?
But credit where it’s due: after all the shenanigans, it was amazing to see our main couple still trust each other. After 56 episodes, that loyalty hit hard.

Insane Meets Insane

Can’t lie, it gave me ice-cold chills at the end, even though it wrapped up with the most cliché Japanese drama ending and that classic cliché song. Like bro, we’ve seen it before, but somehow it still hit.

I almost fell for that pretty smile of the ML too, he had that soft, charming look that makes you wanna believe he’s the “good one”… until he went and cheated like it was a casual errand, then came home like it was just another Saturday night. Wild.

The FL’s character? Low-key disturbing. Sweet on the outside, but you could feel the emotional rot underneath. By the end I just sat there like, “Wow… such a fitting couple.” Tencere kapağını bulmuş, for real.

I did like how dark it got, those mid-episodes were deep in the shadows, no holding back. But then the ending? He just vanishes, and the police go, “He might be alive.” And I was like... seriously? That’s how we’re leaving it? Like a ghost in the wind with a tragic playlist on loop? Anyway. Drama was messy, toxic, and full of red flags and I ate it up.

A unique and refreshing short story

Gotta say the plot they give us 16 episodes of a web series is crazy. Also FL's acting is not bad at all considering that she had to play 2 different characters in a mutliple scenes.
Story is very Chinese short length series like. They gave us that sneaky bastard of FL's husband and his little shameless mistress. But they didn't forget about giving us THE ML, boy give all his support. I'm happy that they didn't decide to make this a whole fricking 30 episodes and load with both FL's falling for the Lu Yuan. They kept it short and clean, which is nice. I would love to see their backstory tho, I even thought maybe I skipped it somehow but no. Did both of them got adopted by different families? or did one of them got adopted? So many questions?

what in the confusing fuck was that

Morally, I don't wanna make any comments. But boy that villain couple was like dumb and dumber. I seriously thought of dropping the second those children started screaming?crying.
Anyways our main couple is a ball of confusion. They make zero communication. They talk with their bodies. Surely that was a lot of passion but oh my for a second i thought i was watching some corn.

Also ML's mother, what's going on her head. Firstly changing the grooms and saying some hateful shit to our couple, spreading missinformation then drugging them. All of that wasn't enough almost killed a baby.
Not gonna lie ML is pretty stupid as well. If you had that much power why didn't you use your brain and snach your sister-in-law when your brother was still known as dead. Or even before that? I mean saying that they had document from king after having 3 children is questionable.
