One thing I am loving so far is how during action scenes there are very little cuts. A pet peeve of mine lately has been how most movies or shows switch cameras every second during fights but this one keeps the cameras rolling which is very impressive.
Is this drama good. I mean I don't really like a complicated story. I just want to watch this for Park Shin Hye,…
It is a photo the ML's dead brother took sometime in the future (or alternate timeline or something else). I realize that sounds complicated but your not supposed to understand it. I highly suggest watching so far.
There is a confusing picture of the two leads getting married although they have not officially met. Also of note is they saw each other once in a very classic kdrama romantic way .
it's funny you should say that cause me and my family theorized that the man was definitely in love with her.…
I also thought he was in love with her but at the same time I felt like he was definitely the one feeding her father information and she knew it. Made me hope he was sending some false information.
Did anyone else think Seo Dong Jae was going to say yes at the end and secretly Lee Yeon Jae wanted him to say that? Her speech about how her husband believed in Dong Jae seemed like a set up for him to take the better path, and she was okay if he did it.
Stranger isn't about few characters that mimic real life human but it always about the whole system that operates…
At first I did not like the set up of season 2 as it seemed to be two powerful sides using murder and sabotage to gain more power and take their rival down. But I think the story is taking a turn away from that as we can see some of the characters have realized that is what is happening. Han Yeon Jin had that same thought and that is why she brought in Detective Geon. In esp 3 we saw him, with Yeon Jin as support, fighting for changes that would bring more power to individual detectives not the higher ups. On the prosecutor side we know someone was pulling strings to get Hwang Shi Mok on to the team probably to turn the discussion toward real change instead of a power struggle. Or at least that is what I hope for because I agree with you that I don't want season 2 to just be about these high ranking people trying to gain more power.
I loved the episode! I am really happy Detective Jang Geon is more involved this time because he is was my favorite side character in the season 1. The chemistry between him and Yeo Jin is also outstanding. There are also a lot of parallels with Seo Dong-Jae as they are both people in their profession who have been promoted through hardwork instead of connections from coming from the police academy or a prestigious school like the people around them.
Highly encouraged but not necessary. Eps 1 & Eps 2 of s2 do a great job of setting up the characters. My advice if you have not watched s1 is to stick with the drama even if the beginning seems slow because it WILL pay off (anyone who has watched season 1 already knows this).
My take on the first two episodes: My first impression was the plot was too slow and I did not like the case they started with. But after thinking about if for a while I started to see the positives in what was set up. The character set up was outstanding and it took me a moment to realize that because I am usually plot driven. We get to see how the relationship between characters has changed from season 1 and what drives the new characters (at least on the surface). I think the stage is set for a fantastic season.
Stranger 2 is a second season, the writer can afford to focus on set up for two episodes, instead of focusing on hooking the audience, knowing the audience will stay to see the higher payoff in the later episodes. If this had been the start of Stranger s1 I would probably have not continued watching and missed an awesome show. Because I trust the writer after watching s1, I was able to look deeper, past the lack of action, and enjoy the outstanding character/ plot set up even if that is not the sorts of episodes I prefer. I feel like the writer used this audience trust in a advantageous way to set up the drama and I am looking forward to it being rewarded in later episodes!
What are opinions on the new theme song/cast introduction at the beginning of the episodes? I like the new music but I wish it was longer because the theme music is great!
