I 100% agree that her motive is confusing because everyone connected to her seem to think she has a different one. There is definitely a lot missing, and its a lot more complicated and I am looking forward to it.

Thinking about it more, Seo Hae might not have straight out lied but misled. She only knows what the Diary or her flashes of her future self told, in a way she is a unreliable narrator. In her (future) memory she sees herself die from the second bullet at the chapel, it would not be a stretch to assume she failed and Han Tae Sul dies immediately after. She has said from the beginning that she believes Sigma is trying to kill Han Tae Sul so it would not be a stretch for her to think that after her death he is next. As we know though, Sigma is not after Tae Sul's death but after the uploader.

Theory Time: Sigma give Han Tae Sul an ultimatum " Is it the girl or the world?" and then immediately shoots a bullet that presumably kills' Seo Hae. Han Tae Sul has to make a choice. Invent the uploader (save the girl) or refuse to invent the uploader (save the world). In the current time loops he has repeatedly chosen the first option, knowingly causing the time loop to continue but giving Seo Hae a chance to live again with him either in his belief she can change things the next time or his desire to see her again even if it is another version of him.

Sigma made a bet that Han Tae Sul's love/belief in Seo Hae will be stronger than his desire to save others, which are both valid considering he has been watching him the whole time and knows a) they are falling in love, b)Han Tae Sul is pretty selfish, c) Sigma is Han Tae Sul (just kidding I don't actually believe that)

Can you point me to where she says he will invent the uploader in 2021? I sort of remember it also but I can't find it.

I think that it is totally possible that Seo Hae lied about the day he died. I believe that's the day she dies and he lives after. Remember, she is the one who is shot at the alter not him. When she is talking about his death you can definitely tell she is not telling the full truth or possibly straight out lieing.

I sure hope it's like that. In the end I agree with what @porridge said, the worst ending would be one where they have a happy ending that does not deserved. I am totally fine with a sad infinite loop ending but the fun is in trying to figure a way out.

I really like that theory as it does keep continuity with a twist that give a "happy ending". I put "happy ending" in quotation marks though because after more thought I realized that means the world still gets bombed and her mom + billions die. So satisfactory ending for me as a viewer as they both live with a twist but not really a happy ending.
I really like the idea though and you may be on to something.

The whole gambling thing does make the Sigma dude seem to be Sun, but I can't find a good reason either. Hermine made a great list and I don't like any of them. I have struggled with why the sigma guy would want a war the only thing I could think of is he ends up on top at the end. The person who ends up on top is probably whoever controls the uploader and with Han Tae Sul dead that would probably be Eddie... Right now though Eddie seems to be a cool dude so IDK, maybe it is Sun.

Who ever is doing the set design for the future is not getting paid enough. They look so real!

My main question from episode 7: What does Seo Hae's mom know? She has not shown up at all until episode 7 and yet seemed to know who actually called.

I definitely recognized him from Mr. Sunshine not from his other appearances in Sisyphus. Whoops. Thanks for the help

Where did we first see the guy in the last scene of episode 7 with the umbrella? (not looking for theories he just looks very familiar)

Update: I have definitely changed my opinion :) Ma Shang and Ah Jing all the way.

I have only watched historical Chinese dramas before but I am going to have to start watching modern ones. This is fantastic.

^My favorite conversation so far. The sniper and Seo Hae are such great foils for each other as one will continue trying knowing he will fail while she will keep fighting knowing she will always succeed even if she did nothing ("I will not die today"). That is until they switch roles and he eventually succeeds and she fails no matter how hard she tries. How can you change the past when the past refuses to change?

I am still on episode 8 and I am half hoping he does for two reasons. The first is Miao Fei deserves someone great, I am loving her character. The bigger reason is I have not seen a Chinese drama where the main lead and female lead don't get together. It would be such a plot twist for them to pair off with different people. It would have to be done really well though because right now I am totally rooting for Ah Jing-Ma Sheng.

Du Ment and An Jing are definitely my favorite duo on screen right now but as a kick-ass duo and I don't want any romance between the two to change their relationship

There is romance in the drama but it is not the main story like. I have really liked how they have weaved it in without over doing it.

So many people looking for romance. All I ask for is some Hwang Shi Mok - Han Yeo Jin chemistry to be happy.
