You don't eat chicken??
I'm vegan, and even if I wasn't, there's a right way to humanly kill chicken. Animal abuse is animal abuse regardless of whether its a farm animal or another animal.
Replying to annie Nov 21, 2024
the arrows hitting the chicken are cgi-ed and the ones with arrows on their body are only props. as you can see…
the chickens are real tho.. I thought the props or arrow is cgi as you mentioned, but the chickens are indeed real. I have pet chickens so I know what a real chicken looks like

Now idk if I believe that arrows were props anymore. Its fine. No need for an argument. I'll get back onto my original perception.

I really hope what you said is true, the only way for me to not feel guilty continuing the drama. (But the first chicken if you slow it at 0.5, you'll see the impact of the arrow or prop if that's the case, that pushed the chicken a feet or two, and pure shock on its face).

But the other responses really didn't pass the vibe check and gave this drama a bad taste, I'll stay away from this superfan comment section of this drama.

There was literally a sentence taken from an article in my comment explaining why.. for birds..... I'm not even going to bother giving real and full responses. You're not worth my time or energy. Bye.

The fact I wasted my time responding to you and giving you real research based FACTS about arrows, bleeding, etc bc I thought you were geniuinly interested to learn. But you were just bringing up baseless random reasons to say I'm wrong. And when I prove your accusations wrong with FACTs, you don't like it. You really think I would waste my time just to drag the drama? Because its something you would do? One person rating the drama low out of THOUSANDS who rate it high won't drag the drama.

I rebuke all negative energy from you. Keep your projections and negativity to yourself, I won't waste a second more, if one of us is a troll, its you. *Blocked*

cdramas are fictional, everything is an act. The same reason you watch dramas to escape reality is the same reason I do. But it triggers me when a "Real" living being is harmed for a scene, its a normal response for any human with decent empathy. That's like saying an actor being killed for real for a scene, is normal. If it was a fake animal being killed, or they cut off the scene and pretended to kill it, that would have been fine. I thought you genuinely wanted to understand, but it seems like you're just finding random irrational things to say why I'm wrong just because our morals don't align. Let's agree to disagree. I'll stick to my morals, as silly as you may think they are. Plus, I'm a vegan, for ethical reasons, not a life style. Someone who's ethically vegan/vegetarian for animal rights, would get it. Anyone can be a vegan/vegetarian, but not everyone is for the ethical reasons of animal rights.

(comparing a real living being being harmed for real, to fictional characters and fictional deaths, is a weird turn)

When a person or animal is hit by an arrow, blood typically does not "splatter" immediately due to several physiological and physical factors:

Arrow Wound Mechanism: When an arrow strikes, it often penetrates deeply, creating a relatively sealed wound compared to cuts or slashes. The arrow itself can block the wound opening, reducing immediate blood loss and splatter by acting as a "plug." Removing the arrow disrupts this seal, allowing blood to flow freely and potentially causing severe bleeding, which is why arrows are often left in place until medical help is available.

Blood Pressure and Vessel Damage: The extent and type of bleeding depend on whether a major blood vessel, such as an artery or vein, has been hit. Arterial wounds, due to high blood pressure, can result in spurting blood once the arrow is removed. In contrast, venous or capillary wounds may bleed more slowly, and the pressure created by the arrow reduces initial external bleeding.

Surface Tension and Viscosity: Blood's viscosity and surface tension influence its behavior upon injury. These properties mean that unless the arrow creates a large, open wound and there's sufficient force (like rapid removal), blood tends to stay contained rather than splattering

Animal Response: In birds or smaller animals, the same principles apply. An arrow in the body creates a localized injury that doesn't result in immediate external splatter if the arrow remains lodged. In some cases, smaller blood volumes and rapid clotting responses in birds can further minimize visible bleeding until the arrow is removed or the body is manipulated.

In forensics and physics research, it has been demonstrated that the dynamics of blood spatter require specific conditions, such as the removal of the projectile or external force, to create noticeable splashes. These dynamics are influenced by fluid properties like viscosity and the object's interaction with the body.

For further details, you can explore studies on injury dynamics and blood flow behavior from forensic and medical research context:

slow down the scene, you'll see the real pain in the chicken's face and being pushed a feet or 2 to the side from the intensity of the arrow speed. Arrows don't splatter blood immediately, especially for chickens/birds. That's why sometimes you would see human characters who would keep the arrow in their body as a strategy till they reach a safe place, since bleeding starts when arrow is pulled out. That really triggered me, I had to go to sleep for a few hours to calm down.

First time I've seen someone complain about animal abuse πŸ˜‚ why didn't i see any animal abuse on the dramaπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚…
Hitting chickens with arrows for a slow kill, a scene in a drama, instead of an instant kill is not "animal abuse" so it doesn't apply to farm animals, they do not deserve rights? If it were a real dog being hunted down, it wouldn't be an issue, but a farm animals is fine. You do realize there are chicken as pets just like there's dogs as pets, rights? Chickens are just as loved. Don't justify that it wasn't animal abuse, just because you have selective love for which animals deserve to live and those who can be shot for a scene. But this is a no-no win situation, since yall vilified a real trigger of mine. If I was really a "hater." I wouldn't have been watching the drama till now or comment positively multiple times. So say whatever yall want. If I can be the voice for these voiceless animals who no one thinks they deserve the same love or rights as non farm animals, then I'll happily be the villain in your story.

Oh so no chickens were hit by arrows in episode 14? Oh my bad, since chickens are farm animals, they are not "animals" so its not considered animal abuse. Definitely not selective vision. My bad!

Title The Story of Pearl Girl Spoiler
I'm so utterly disgusted. I'm used to seeing REAL animal abuse in cdramas since they have zero regards for animals especially farm animals. But the scene in ep 14 was so unnecessary, I hoped it was just a camera trick but I played it in slow motion, they had the poor chicken tied down then hit it with a real arrow. That's torture and haram as it doesn't end the suffering right away. I bet they left the chicken till its suffered slowly to death. You can see the shock of the poor thing. Humanity is no more. Just for a damn show, a 1 second scene, that's how worthless animals are to humans. I'm so done, they did it more than once, yikes. Only losers low excuse for humans would harm animals who have zero chances for entertainment, any anyone who finds it entertaining is sick,

And of course, not a single watcher will notice or even care to mention it. Gosh, that's why I would always choose animals over people anytime.

Going to drop it for a while.

Edit: responses proved my right, call me a hypocrite for seeing all living beings as equal, just as loved as your cat or dog. I don't care, will continue to speak up in the future if I see animal abuse towards farm animals, won't silence me. Its just funny how yall vilify a real trigger as an excuse to hate the drama, when its not a diss towards the storyline, characters, actors. But its fine, I'm not surprised.

I cant stand the ML, what a princess, yikes. Can't believe I shipped this princess excuse for a man with FL. Let me see how he will "Redeem" himself and how the writers will gaslight me to see him in a different light

Its funny to me when Mu Bai literally dies and comes back from the dead, and Ziqi almost dies and also comes back from almost being dead, then both say "oh we just ran into a few things" and "we got married" lmao

I'm someone who drops a lot of dramas but this was one of the very few that I rated a 10 which means it was the best. Came here to take a look because I'm watching "Love Game In Eastern Fantasy" which reminded me of this drama, and surprised that others aren't enjoying it.

Just took a look at my MDL history, damn I watched this in 2021??? Felt like just last year, time is so fast. Going to watch this again soon lmao
