Waste of time & talent
I loathed this series because you have to try So hard to accept the male lead while he does his ;I'm mean, but now I'm nice, but now I'm mean again switcheroo only to be given a bitter & supposedly sweet resolution. It's maddening how the male lead's character is wishy washy with a with a heavy dose of the "It will hurt her less if I am mean & drive her away from me" trope. Side characters were props with stories that were annoying . If you stop before the last episode ends they tease you with a happy ending but if you go all the way to the end you are left with an unsatisfying punch in the gut more realistic ending. This is the 1st drama I've seen where there's a really good reason why the 2nd male lead is such a good guy.***spoiler****
because he's on the back burner being kept warm for when the female lead is ready-which she will be soon enough.
Shin Min Ah shines. unnecessary spicy content better without last 2 episodes
This was alot of fun. Shin Min Ah's charm is on full blast, reminding me of when she was in My Girlfriend is a 9 tailed fox. The OST was fun too! [which I rarely notice unless it's very good or very annoying] What I didn't like was when the characters crossed over a G rating. It's all consensual ,Not much is shown & the characters are in their 30's but still, it detracted from the enjoyment for me & it felt too generic (like they felt required to have it). Considering this is a short series they could have left it out. I did not care for the secondary couple at all & I was sad that they threw away the opportunity at a better secondary couple with the fighter & Venus's best friend (who had a really good relationship with the fighter's mother.) this isn't even teased at so . There are a few really wonderful "ah" moments with the romance & it has a nice resolution but the actual ending was bland & tries too hard to be humorous. The real happy ending comes a few episodes earlier.*** spoiler**
I hated who the fighter ended up with (the obsessive stalker Sasaeng fan) he had gone through so much & she didn't care about his feelings, only getting what she wanted. He deserves better. The perfect ending would have been to stop with a proposal or with a return from being away. but instead they tack on an ending dealing with gaining family approval for the relationship, a cringy request for a grandchild as a wedding present (!?what!) and a tired resolution for the struggling romance between the ex boyfriend & his cold girlfriend.
Will watch again but quit early & avoid the last episodes or 2 that cools your warm fuzzies to luke warm
Zany, then a flood of depressing flashbacks , then boring with lots of product placement
The longer my review, the more you can tell how sincerely I wanted to love a drama ! Also, my apologies, I have no idea why this isn't rated lower.[I suspect it's due to what else I was watching at the time or had just finished that made this look so much better}This did surprised me as I was not expecting much & I knew going in that there is NO romance (spoiler at end about this), and I was looking for something to Not get invested in. This turned into a pleasant interesting surprise, UNTIL it became depressing, bland & boring for a good many episodes. The product placements of spicy chicken with noodles & starbucks coffee were sprinkled throughout, & sort of broke the 4th wall at times, but it didn't bother me too much as the first 7 or 8 episodes were a bit frenetic, zany & quirky anyway. Besides, it gave the camera a reason to pause & focus on the male lead-as if to say : you're welcome. I was really enjoying the series with the cases/clients until they started a really deep dive into the past with multi episode flash backs & that's were the fun & my interest waned. When we are whipped back into present there is a used car scam that is more tedious than comedic & it takes up way too much screen time. From then on things get serious & boring, with Time skips (the trope I'd like most to see die!) By the time they are resolved, you are annoyed with the male lead, & the flow of the story has been damaged . It's awkward picking it up again . Ironically, even the characters express our frustration. if you could skip about 4 episodes, you might actually like this a whole lot more.
End was "happy" (?) well they bounced back to being perky again the way the series started, but it felt like there would be a season 2.
*****Spoilers**********
Episodes with Male lead's fiancé (that dies) - the flashbacks of them getting to the point of being engaged were bland & I think I can honestly say that the doomed girl was just as shocked as were were when the male lead proposed! It was a very low key relationship & it felt like we were not supposed to get invested in it. (on a scale of chocolate over romance- chocolate wins in this case!) I thought that the male lead wore dark sunglasses because they were his fiancé's & so it kept her "near" him. when he gives them to the Female lead,(in the present) it was significant as to his feeling toward her (budding romance ?), YET they have zero chemistry & nothing is ever implied . Some parts at the end seemed Pieced together badly. That the female lead's grandfather actually wasn't significantly involved in all the nefarious stuff going on, seemed like they made a quick plot change. When the male lead decides not to have him be a suspect he looks into, it really seems like it's solely because he's the female lead's grandfather. Even the "blurb" clip of the male lead having a short conversation with the grandfather didn't convince me of the grandfather's innocence.
I was annoyed that they did nothing with the dim wit prosecutor (who was interested in Female lead), as it seemed like he should end up with his colleague (who was a single mother)
Yuck. pointless emotion numbing waste of time
BombI watched this because a friend raved about it (but failed to tell me they had only watched 5 episodes)
The only way to explain how bad this is:
Spoilers:
Singer who will soon not be able to sing because of throat nodes falls for girl who has brain tumor. The grim reaper keeps showing up as a little girl (whom tumor girl makes a deal with).Throat guy gets stuck reliving the same day for more than a year because of that deal. He has to watch tumor girl die every day for over a year. It would be heartbreaking but throat girl is really bland & lifeless so it's hard to care about her even though she's sincere. Near the end, their love, which had gotten a bit stale over the past 7 years has rekindled. Like, why? In the end the grim reaper has erased both their memories of each other & it seems that neither has any health problems (?).Tumor girl now seems to be engaged to a different man. She meets throat guy in a random chance meeting & they exchange pleasantries as strangers. The series ends there

Movie version that's knock off to "Love 020" drama but this falls short in comparison
This is somehow a remake (?) movie version of Chinese drama : Love 020-with differernt actors. But this movie pales in comparison and this falls incredibly short of everything I loved about the Love 020 the series. First off the actors here are not meltingly attractive. The Love 020 series was a satisfying warm fuzzy fest with the 2 leads looking unrealistically attractive. The plot (which in the series, was pretty thin to begin with & relied heavily on the game graphics & the visuals & charm of the actors) is condensed here into a banal chopped piece meal of a story that kind of needs you to have seen Love 020 series to appreciate it at all. The series Love 020 had me smiling & riding a cloud throughout. The only thing that I liked about this movie was the graphic /animated parts. I'm sorry to say that it's just not alluring at all, but just a knock off of the series highlighting some of the memorable moments from the series & that's all.
Very Low drama & Light hearted, not well translated into English
I give this a rather excessively high rating because it was one of the most light hearted dramas I've seen. What I mean by that is :1)There's a happy ending
2)there was no body/soul switching, no amnesia, no mean love triangle ,no kidnapping & no getting hit by a car !
Lee Donghae is a treat & looks cook until, inexplicably AND unfortunately they give him a tame hair style for the last few episodes which dampens his cool snarkiness a bit. I was impressed with his acting was, especially in the last episodes where things get very emotional. I didn't find female lead Yoon Seung-ah that good a match for him, but she wasn't horrible. The story was a bit complicated & I'm not sure I understood things completely as I felt there were some things missing in the translation, but over all I loved many of the relationships . I was sad that one of the main guys did not get matched up at the end. I rushed a few episodes & it diminished the enjoyment so am making a note to myself not to binge watch or watch more than 2 episodes at a time !
Not entertaining & not funny.
Yet another waste of time. The movie is nothing like the picture. There are no sexy psies in this. This tries to be a BFF girlfriend movie but instead comes across as girl liking girl in a crossing the line kind of way. There is no romance and the comedy is thin. I was sorry to have watched it when the main character acted like a female dog flirting with a male dog (literally that's what she did). This was not entertaining & not funny.
Boring then just confusing
It's always hard to review something that you got so little enjoyment or entertainment value from...AND when it isn't very memorable, but here goes : this "Fantasy island" (old American TV show) type of story is mind numbingly boring. It switched gears 3/4 of the way through & I couldn't understand what the heck they were doing. I skipped to the end & it still made no sense. All I could make out was that they were like, doing some sort of ode to nature. Perhaps this is one of those movies best viewed while drunk ?
Not much of interest other than the lead actor
The trailer looked like it would be alot more fun than the movie actually ended up being. .The male lead is fun to watch be snarky and lethal, but the kids were grating on the nerves-incredibly annoying. There is a lot of violence. Too much of the movie was in the dark or in smoke filled rooms, which made those parts were long & boring
watch for the leads- everything else is boring
The only reason to watch this is the male leads- who are always a treat to watch. Here they they are pitted against each other. Other than that, it just was not that interesting to me. It may be the genre is not in my "wheel house" , or that it has alot violence and boring action, (as opposed to interesting or fun action), honestly it's a bit generic & forgettable. I didn't find any attention worthy bromances or buddy stuff that stood out.
Confusing premise spirals into more head scratching suppositions
somethings were hard to understand-not sure if it was due to the subtitles. A few plot devices also didn't work. How in the world can anyone throw shade at a 10 year old & blame him for a fire, when he was out playing at the time and he wasn't even where the fire started!?? Also, why blame his mother who thought he was in the apt (where the fire started) ?
Why does the juice bar woman stay with her husband ? It was really unclear to me. Why was the widowed firefighter SO flirty with all women ??? The secret (?) agency & the microchip- never did understand that and in the end was the female lead exonerated ? it seemed like they justified what she had done .The firefighter really jumped into critical judgmental mode with his girlfriend overly fast & waffled a bit too much. I didn't actually care for the side couples & the issue of ghosting was an unacceptable relationship plot device for a lasting romance.
Depressing & sad
AKA: Love for Ten generation of youthThis drama is a forgettable waste of time. It's depressing and sad. The ending is especially sad. A nerdy maladroit student joins a theater group because a girl he likes is also in it. He proceeds to devote all of his efforts into the group in order to win her over (of course it has to be the university's most popular girl) .unfortunately, the guy is not that good looking & it's hard to look at him. He is rebuffed by his crush. She just wants to be friends.
LGBTQ content +Lackluster & Disappointing on many levels
The strength of the series is in the medical mysteries & the lead's charms. For me, both were lacking in this season. Both leads spend what feel like endless moments staring wide eyed at each other as this season focuses on thier relationship. So much so, that it's actually boring it it's abundance of "ah we're having a moment" (s) scenes. The well fleshed out side characters from season 1 are turned into flat background scenery for the most part.As in Season 1, where there was an abundance of focus on the plight of women, this season also high lights females females as down trodden (well it IS the Joseon era!) but still seemed a heavy emphasis- AND there is a medical mystery that revolves around two women lovers which has a modern solution.
It did seem that many plot devices went unexplained or were presented as difficult when there are easy solutions that are too often simply ignored. Examples:
male lead's bodyguard stays at the clinic (for no reason)-while his master goes out & faces dangerous situations. (totally avoidable IF servant was actually being a servant/bodyguard like he was in season 1)
Female lead's father inexplicably allows her to return to the clinic. (after insisting that she not do that as he had at the end of season 1)
When asked by the king, what the male lead wishes for as a favor, he somehow forgets to ask for the most important thing [his heart's desire-to marry female lead]
Later in the drama, we are reminded that the female lead actually cannot by law, marry or have children as she is a widow. ( if the leads left the country, problem solved & why the heck is the male lead pursuing her when he has NO plan for them to be together?)
A guy from the royal physicians group concocts a ruse to come to the clinic (spy on them) & they don't make him leave once he is healed, though they know he is not to be trusted & out to get them.
There is a happy ending, but we have to go through the obligatory trope of proof of love by pushing your lover away because despite them often proclaiming they would rather live without any & everything else BUT you, BUT you think they don't really mean it & feel you must step aside for them to be fulfilled through thier career.
So, yes, disappointing on many levels
Everyone has thier own agenda & everyone was cruel
The first episode was hard to get through. it was dark, all the characters were unlikeable & impossible to feel any interest in.Dystopian is a bit too extreme a description but it felt like that-bleak/depressing. I knew the chances of me liking this series were slim but I wanted to see how Go Kyung Pyo did. He played to type- similar to other dramas he has been except he got to do a little action. To be fair, I lost interest in episode 3 and skimmed ahead. This was too violent and in general the characters didn't strike me as noble or heroic. Everyone had thier own agenda, everyone was cruel. It did end with the leads together. This just was not the genre I wanted to invest in & the characters weren't worth it.
Plot holes + Much is resolved off camera
The low rating is for how it seems like a shrunken version of a longer drama as each episode ended with something that is resolved off camera before the next episode begins. Additionally, there are plot holes in every episode in random places. The Female lead is a real treat. The male lead is lifeless. A similar & better drama is the Korean Drama : "I am not a robot"
