Wait, so did Oh Hyun Jae do this purposefully, get Cha Soo Young to join because of Dong Shik? It would be extremely hilarious if they were to now reveal that he was obsessed with her or something, and that is why our almighty detective lured her in.
The identity revelation wasn't very surprising. I knew there had to be a reason why he got so much screen time, especially the female lead wasn't even that interested in the guy.
I saw this post first, and then went back to read your first part. And it felt like I was reading my own story.... I began reading cnovels in 2016 too. But unlike you, I began with Gu Man. Loved all her novels, and from then my interest diverged into the historical territory. Have you tried the other revenge rebirth ones? Malicious Empress, Chu Wang Fei, Mei Gongqing, Shattering Glass, Unrepentant, Virtuous Wife, Eight Treasures Trosseau. Malicious Empress is my most favourite novel ever, but the rest are equally good, except maybe Chongfei Manual. And yeah, I noticed you haven't included the BEST ever novel- Mo Dao Zu Shi, aka The Untamed? And how about Dong Gong-Goodbye My Princess, Le Coup de Foudre, My Sunshine, General and I, The Eternal Love?... They are really good, all of them. And yeah, try the novel version of Untouchable Lovers, if you haven't already. It's called Phoenix Imprisoning Phoenix and it's epic. Trust me, it's nothing like that horrible drama.
Do you guys think Hao Lan truly loved Yiren? I honestly truly loved Yiren's character, but at times he was morally…
I'd like to believe that he did. He had so many chances to give up on her, but he doesn't. The throne was his obsession, but Hao Lan was what he desired the most. I think, if Lu Buwei had not left with him that time, and stayed behind with Hao Lan, He'd never have waited that long to bring her back. He felt assured since he knew that she was still waiting for him. He was an intensely possessive ma, and he'd decided already that she was to be his wife.
A very good historical drama. Each characters has complexity and layers. The dialog has deep meaning. The costume…
Oh man, I totally agree withyou. I definitely liked Yiren more than Lu Bu Wei. Though I'm not sure Haolan did. Not until he was dead anyhow. But yeah, his death did achieve that. He finally GETS her, FULL and Complete heart. I absolutely love how manipulative he is.
I can't abide cheaters at all. I absolutely couldn't stand Jang Nara's husbands in The Last Empress, and VIP. But here, for the first time, I can't seem to help but root for Do Jin U. He's a selfish, arrogant prick.....but he's equally adorable when it comes to Seol Ah. And it's not like Seol Ah married him for love, so it's easy to sympathise with him. And I feel like he suits her much better than Tae Rang. Tae Rang looks all gloomy and depressed all the time. And even Seol Ah, she looks and feels more alive when she's with Jin U. She looks like a numb doll when she's with Tae Rang. They're both selfish, ambitious individuals, and I feel like they should be together, because they understand each other so well. I hope this drama breaks all expectations, and that they end up together. They're the only reason I watch this actually. I find the other arc, Cheong Ah- Jun Hwi- Jun Gyeom-Judge thing very boring.
Episode 30 got me feeling all the damn feels. All the waiting has been worth it. I’m so fangirling hard.
Ikr???? My cheeks hurt from grinning so hard. Sassy Dong His is just the best. I want to see more of him being petty over Yan Chiwu, then Chen Ye..... Tang Qi Gong Zi always said that Dong Hua was her favourite... and I can see why?
I kept trying...the scenes with that father and daughter, and the daughter with cancer.... they were heartbreaking

That has to be the best acting I've ever seen.....

Hao Lan and Xiao Chun....
You just convinced me to watch it ASAP.
Especially on the Jin U- Seol Ah relationship. I want them to get back together already.

Chen Zhe Yan wasn't bad either.
As in they're an actual couple.
I'll wait
