This has to be the first cdrama I've followed ever since the rumors of an adaptation came out. Can't believe they're going to begin shooting next week... Like Tian Ya Ke/ Shan He Ling, I hope the scriptwriter is a fan of Priest, because so far, it has made Shan He Ling a joy to watch. They're not even toeing the line between friendship and romance, and I love it. I really really hope the same happens with Mo Du. Because it's the best amongst all of Priest's novels (in my opinion), and it deserves a stellar adaptation. Fei Du is such a complex character...I really really hope that Zhang Xincheng plays him well.
This was a drama that I really wanted to like. I was blown away by the production quality and costumes in the first few episodes. I tried so hard... and yet, ever since A'Wu returned from Ningshuo....it became more and more unpalatable. Why did they have to turn her into this femme fatale? And even if she were that attractive, it doesn't make sense for so many intelligent, powerful men to go completely bonkers. That was something I simply couldn't comprehend. That dance with Helan Zhen!!! The hell was that, particularly in imperial China, she's practically painting a green hat on Xiao Qi. I cannot unsee it, no matter how hard I try. It was like the point of no return. I stopped liking her after that. And for someone growing up in the palace, why was she so gullible and so easily manipulated?...Be it her father, Su Jin'er, Xie Wanrou, her aunt- the Empress Dowager, or her conniving cousin... she behaved so stupidly. So yes, this was a massive disappointment. I hope they allocate at least half this budget to the adaptation of Rebirth of the Malicious Empress. Shen Miao will be the perfect example of how an Empress, or the first daughter of a powerful, aristocratic family ought to behave.
Okay I don't care what anyone says... I absolutely loved ep 8. I couldn't stop grinning the entire time ????. I really really really hope they give us a happy ending. Somehow it's giving me the same feel as Kill It, so I'm really scared... that one of our leads are going to die.
This drama has Liu Yun who acted as Jin er in Rebel Princess. Here she is Madam Wen.Looks like she will be an enemy…
Not really. In the novel, Madam Wen becomes one of the greatest supporters of Shi Yinniang because of how well she treats her daughter Zhen'er. But since there's no Zhen'er in the cast list, I don't know how their relationship will play out.
Now this...I cannot wait for... Absolutely loved the original Taiwanese version, as close to perfection as it could come. I hope they give justice to the script. The cast was amazing tooo, especially Alice Ke. For the Korean version, I'd love to see Kim Hye Yoon/Park Eun Bin as Huang Yuxuan, Park Bo Gum as Li Ziwei, and Kim Min Jae as Mo Junjie.
Yes, it wouldn't be fair for Soyong to die and I like her too but this is not the way to solve the problem. King…
This would've been perfect the perfect. Especially about the two of them having the same soul that gets reincarnated. That's what I thought would happen too, keeping with the chinese version.
I think the length of this drama and the frenetic pace ended up being the achilles heel of this drama because…
That was beautifully put. Like you said, QL' s feelings for Yushi had always been just that. I was invested in them as a ship at first, precisely because of this. The fact that he gets distracted and easily pulled in by the vision of Yushi being his legally married wife (Soul-Beast), and that he smiles after realizing the fact was a major reason for this. And in the Artifact Forging Sect, before crossing the bridge, it's again thoughts of his fake marriage to her, that primarily occupies his mind.
Anyone can explain what is du shaoyang's true identity?
He's supposed to be the first spiritual artifact that Gongmu Lie forged by himself. He belonged to the Divine race, but Gongmu Lie turned it into his dagger, a spiritual artifact, with the promise to help him attain glory in the battlefield.

This is amazing
Loving it so far.... especially the introduction for ZZX . There's definitely a lot of character depth.

something feels off.
Absolutely loved the original Taiwanese version, as close to perfection as it could come. I hope they give justice to the script. The cast was amazing tooo, especially Alice Ke.

But personally, HnG is my favourite.
Also add Crossfire to that.
I meant the cinematography looks very well done.
And I loved your article.
