Since her last few roles are rom-com cuties, this may be the correct decision for her to break out of that mole. Being a second female lead may have less pressure. Remember that Dilreba was a second female lead in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and garnered a lot of praises with less pressure to carry the drama.

I hope that the script and producing/directing are good and that they stay true to the novel.

I think that the fanbase had the same issue with Wang Yibo being cast in The Untamed. He was supposed to be bigger and older than Xiao Zhan. Yet in reality, he was younger and a little shorter. So I think that we should all give Dilreba and Leo a chance.

I think that Vengo Gao could have been a better match than Leo from the novel's description. He is older and bigger, but that would mean that Dilreba would have been paired 8 times with him.

I love Leo ever since Nirvana in Fire. Glad that Dilreba has more chances to work this year with different roles.

I think that the stylists want to make Dilreba more youthful and Leo more mature to even out the age difference.

If this drama has lots of fight scenes, then Leo may be ok.

I do not even understand the Legend of Fei award, but I think that Tencent May have some influence. ;)

The Untamed paved the way for the 50 BL dramas that are being planned for the future according to Avenue X.

I am not sure that China will let those 2 to be in another BL drama, but maybe Tencent May have a say.

You should also watch the concerts and the behind-the-scenes.

Next year will be China’s 100 birthday so more dramas that will invoke patriotism will come out. Instead of more republican era dramas, the powers-that-be will do the same by using this pandemic.

This reminds me of the series Dark Tales/Strange Storied from a Chinese Studio.

Hope that the editing is not all over the place when they cut down the episodes.

If you love The Untamed, then you should also watch the spinoffs, The Living Dead and The Fatal Journey. The first spinoff focused on Wening/Ah Yuan and the latter focused on the Nie brothers.

The Romance of Tiger and Rose is a rom-com with a happy ending and maybe a 2nd season. The Eternal Love is a cute rom-com with 2 seasons and a third filming right now. The chemistry between the leads are amazing with a happy ending.

If you love the ML, then you should watch The Bad Boys. He is excellent in that drama. It is only 12 episodes, but it will make you think for days.

I get your point. I love The Untamed and have not seen another show that can topple it recently. I have seen it 10x in addition to its spinoffs. I think that we need more to further understand the side characters and their stories.

Most C-dramas are predictable and mediocre lately. The cast like a boy band is made up of mostly inexperienced actors who just graduated acting school and they gave it 110%. The script, director, producer, etc. all did a great job with this production along with the marketing/PR. If you watch the behind-the-scenes and the Untamed Boys concerts, you will see that the whole cast has great chemistry. The handsomeness of the actors is a bonus.

It is popular because the powers-that-be stuck to the book and the producer/director found a way to not be censored. So this show already had a big fan base. That explained why the BL genre now has 50 series in the works and spawned The Untamed Boys band that will be on a world tour.
