There was a character in the novel thats not present in the show. He went to SJ’s hotel room to stop him from taking the meds but couldn’t succeed. So the setting is the same as the novel but the way he died is different.

It was not a suicide in the web novel. He had caught a cold and mixed his meds with the ones he takes for his insomnia and died as a result of the meds reacting.

I’m a bit confused by the timeline. In the original timeline Sunjae had already died and his funeral was going on. But in episode 8 IS arrived before that time so she is basically in the past then?
